Description

Please note: this is a companion to Sketch for Mac, and requires it to function.

Sketch Mirror lets you preview your Sketch designs on your iOS devices.

After connecting to it from your Mac, you can swipe on your device to navigate between Pages and Artboards.

Sketch Mirror scales your designs up or down intelligently to fit the screen resolution of your iOS device, and also lets you zoom manually to inspect individual pixels.

You can run Sketch Mirror on any number of iOS devices and connect as many of them as you want to one Mac client. Preview your iPad-sized Artboards on one device while your iPhone mirrors the smaller Artboards.

Fails at doing the one thing it needs to consistently

Constantly run into problems connecting this to mirror designs. Whether it’s using Wi-Fi or a usb cable or the seemingly simple sketch cloud. This thing continues to fail. Sometimes it works. Most times it doesn’t. Which is extremely frustrating if you are trying to do User Tests with designs. Most recently i paid for an account on sketch thinking it would make this process easier. I uploaded my document to the sketch cloud service and logged in on sketch cloud on the mirror app. Low and behold it can’t view files you’ve uploaded only ones you’ve shared. But if you try and share your own file with yourself it will not allow yourself to. So basically the cloud fails at doing the thing it’s supposed to as well. Shocking that a company that builds tools for creating better user experiences can’t seem to master their own. I’m generally pretty forgiving but i have been using sketch for OVER 2 YEARS!! These same problems persisted then and still persist now sadly.

Highly recommend looking into other solutions. And whatever you do, avoid paying for a license. The lack of consistency in the use of mirror and cloud negates the purchase for those use cases.

Please change ‘back to directory’ gesture

RiAsta

App did a great job for checking design changes in real time on a phone. Now it’s even better when we can show a prototype with it! I stopped using other software to prototype. The only problem is: Prototyping is used to show tappable design to others and check design decisions. Currently, swipe can return to directory, which breaks the flow, therefore fails to mimic the real app (and my friends and colleagues really like to swipe, even when everything is shown on the screen). Can you please change back to directory to be ‘hold’ or two finger swipe, or some other gesture that is not used as often? Thanks!

Fast and easy, needs improvement

Love the USB connection option. Saves having to find often-obscure Wi-Fi passwords & changing network settings on my main computer & phone. But making live changes can break the functionality, so I have to basically quit the app and start over to see the changes I've made.

Pages and artboards are organized beautifully. Double-tap to zoom artboards to full screen width—would be nice if this were the default functionality.

Solid start. Looking forward to more!
