Another Speed dating app
Initially when I began to use the app it had a pretty simple layout. Setting up your profile is pretty easy and like most apps you can use Facebook or Google to create your account and sign in. I was able to see profile pics of everyone featured and logged in, and also chat with someone almost immediately, which is great if you don't know where to start. The app has a really cool feature, sort of like a chat roulette, where you shake up your phone and it connects you with anyone else using the shake feature. However, the only setback after shaking to chat, was that I was met with a black screen and never connected to anyone; that could be an issue if you're really interested in the profile picture that you've seen. The best feature is the simple chat platform that mimics the layout of a standard text message format. Other than that, nothing huge stands out that makes this app any different from other dating apps. I had the issue, while scrolling through the profile pictures, where the app would suddenly crash. I also had issues saving my preferences to locate people in my area to chat with. If some of the glitches are worked out, I feel like this could be an alternative app to use if you don't like any of the conventional dating apps out there. Other than that, the app doesn't not stand out enough to warrant it as a preferred dating source.
Disgusting. The people on this so-called "social app" are foul, and the profiles and pics are unmonitored, or extremely under-monitored, and usually the user profiles are unpleasant or worse, disgusting in content. Tons of people targeting people, trying to get you to marry them from other, especially Asian or African, nations, or to mail them a smartphone or money. Hundreds and hundreds of fake profiles with fake pics of girls, which are actually cam models trying to get you to pay to watch their porn show, or to rate their show. There is a major feature called the 'Buzz Feed' - a thread everyone can post text and pics for everyone to see; it has become an uncensored cesspool of offensive sex comments, sex solicitation, offensive racial terms and dumb, misspelled, low-life observations that is appalling to read. And appalling to see being tolerated by people in management. There are users who are trolls who harass people. The customer service people - they seem to be understaffed or almost unstaffed. It's not a fun app to use to meet or even chat with people. The people on it can barely speak coherently, let alone speak intelligently. Going on this app is like entering Sodom and Gomorrah, or one of Dante's levels of hell. Filled with sin. I swear, it practically smells of sulfur. It used to be a little better when it was first launched, but over the last 2 years it has descended into just being heartbreakingly foul. Which is saddening.
Trying to Rescue a Family..
I'm a single father of two young boys and we live I n Oklahoma and after my boys and I watched a heart-breaking documentary on the poverty in Guatemala and the thousands of people living, working and eating in massive, disease infested trash dumps, we decided we wanted to locate a poor family that lived there so that we could send care-packages to. After not getting any help from all the various Non-profits operating in Guatemala I decided to use Skout to locate a family directly. As soon as I made several promising contacts I was quickly banned from Skout and all my email addresses have been blocked so I can't create a new account. I've emailed Skout and also left a voicemail at Skouts Headquarters in San Francisco but no one has responded. I've read through the terms of conditions and I don't understand what I've violated. I would hate to think that Skout is only okay with me trying to get Guatemalan girls to send my X-rated pictures, but if I actually try to use Skout to do some good I get banned! I'm sure there was some sort of misunderstanding but it would be great for everyone involved, including the impoverished 4th-world peasant family that we are trying to get clean water, food and medicine to - if it was remedied quickly especially when the things we are trying to send them could literally be the difference between life or death particularly for any malnourished, sick babies..
