How do I get it?
Update to the latest version and look for the new SUPERMASSIVE option in the main menu.
New review for huge new update. What are people complaining about with this app? I bet these same people drop $10 on any given trip to McDonalds but can't support $10 for a phenomenal update that makes this app 10x what it was previously? I wonder if those complaining actually took the time to delve into the features of the IAP - seriously it looks like a huge undertaking and well worth the price of two Starbucks coffees a year. I just don't get why people think apps should be free on the iPhone...why people think developers don't earn a living for hard work. Great job on this app update guys - I am purchasing the yearly subscription and I can't wait to use this off and on when my space nerd phases kick in.
Old review: Love this new update! The 3D planets look great. One thing I would love is an update to the Notification Center widget - upcoming celestial events would be nice to see, as well as ISS overhead times. If that widget were more customizable I'd be grateful. Otherwise, phenomenal app and I'm glad you guys keep updating with great features!
This app has been so great to use. It's incredibly easy to learn about the sky you're looking at. Many features have been fun and helpful, but being able to know when the ISS or a satellite is orbiting overhead has been the best for the kids. This app has made learning about Space much more accessible and interactive for our family.
The app functions very smooth, has excellent clarity and beautiful views. Filters are available and pretty simple. Information about planets, nebulas, constellations and galaxies is as simple to find as tapping on the screen. I would recommend this to anyone who is even a little curious about space.
The most comprehensive app of its kind!
EDIT: While The update is greatly appreciated, and yes, the developers didn't have the obligation to upgrade, charging for a "Sky Guide 2.0" would have been more sensible. The subscription model has to justify the annual price with say, planned updates. I think this is why most of the user base is complaining.
ORIGINAL: This app is the pinnacle of the sky maps apps on any platform! It gives you a butter smooth interface, shows and lets you track even satellites, rocket bodies, deep sky objects, Kuiper Belt Objects, comets and more! I have used most apps of this kind and this one takes the cake. There is just to much to type if I were to describe everything. I would buy it again!
