Great app. Missing one thing.

I've used Star Walk for years, and generally like it. Lots of people like this one, so I decided to try it. In general, SkySafari 5 is smoother, prettier, and faster and has lots more information. What's missing is the ecliptic line. So I deducted a star because it ought to be available.

SkySafari Plus and Pro have my missing ecliptic line.

I was afraid the app would pester me to make in-app purchases, but only if I try to choose Orbit. I'm recommending this to everyone who wants a cheap astronomy app. Make the most of your telescope, or just learn the night sky.

Great introductory astronomy app

Getting started observing the heavens is daunting, but this one makes it easier to get started. I appreciate that they took the time to write lots of Help articles. Yes. Some of us gratefully read them. Many really nice features to discover so you can approach astronomy from many different directions.

Excellent for beginners and advanced

Wet Chet

It has everything I need, plus tons of extra information. I like the ability to simulate any time and place to prepare for observations or to review afterward. It has enough features for my tastes and is intuitive enough for my young daughter to use.
