Excellent Astronomy Program
I am an amateur astronomer and docent at an observatory. I use this program all the time. Some of our telescopes are push-to scopes, and SkySafari is extremely helpful in aiming at faint deep sky objects. I’m not sure if this is a feature or an unintended “bug”, but when SkySafari is in night mode (red), all of the other programs on my MacBook Pro also run in red, night mode. This is very helpful if I need additional information from another program without killing my night vision. I have not used it as such, but some of my fellow docents use it to control their telescopes and like it for that. This program is well worth the nominal cost.
Best Mac app
This is the main app I use for my observing. It has everything I need to find what’s visible in the sky each night and on future nights. I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in Astronomy either a novice or an experienced observer.
A great tool for Amateur Astronomers and Astrophotographers
I love Sky Safari, it is both a great planetarium program and when used with it’s companion product, SkyFi, makes connecting to and controlling my Meade telescope incredibly easy. I can use my iPad, iPhone and computer to effortlessly tour the sky.
