** Slashdot is an IT focused news site with a user moderated community of like-minded and talkative individuals. Keep up to date with technology news and engage your opinions with others. **
The Slashdot app brings Slashdot into the 21st century and into your device with a responsive, intuitive interface. No more waiting for websites loads, losing your comments to a closed tab, or losing your place in an article. Plus, with an in-app purchase, you can unlock new features never seen on the website before:
• Enjoy offline reading of stories, comments and linked articles: The Slashdot app actively downloads any story you want to read, saving it for your perusal at any time, including when offline. Stories, comments and linked articles are all smart saved to your device, so they'll be there when you need them but won't take up too much space when you don't.
• Adjustable themes make Slashdot come to life with customization, and allow accessibility options never before possible such as high-contrast color schemes and large fonts.
• Write comments while continuing to peruse other comments, side-by-side! Plus automatic comment saving gives you peace of mind that your hard work won't be lost, no matter what.
To keep Slashdot free for all to use, the app is ad supported. However with a single in-app purchase you can get rid of all ads, and have a completely ad-free Slashdot experience.
What's New in Version 1.12
Fixed an API bug. Compatible with iOS7.
This app is crap. Half the time I try to scroll the page, the app instead tries to scroll the headline text even though there is nothing else to view by scrolling said text. I can add a story to the 'read later' column but can't figure out how to remove it.
It hasn't been updated recently, resulting in a message that the developer needs to update it so it will run properly on the current version of iOS.
This app should be kicked from the App Store.
Disappointing! the app presents a serial view of posts, there is no index, categorization method, nor links to relates content, dates, topics, etc. no links at all, none, nada. One can "turn on features for $1.99, presumably this would include hyperlinks and an indexing system of some kind. Back to the browser for my Slashdot fix, I guess...
