I absolutely love this app- and the honest but I amusing headlines

I can't say enough good things about this app- I currently have an iPad Mini 4. Their stories, insight, unique and raw perspective are incredible. Slate writes the BEST headlines. CNN has nothing on Slate. (CNN has become Trump 24/7 and it's just painful(!)
And a Slate feature I just noticed today- when you tap the menu, everything is there- not just specific links to other stories/sections in the app, but also Customer Support and related.
With other apps, it often takes me quite some time to find Customer Service or app support- and sometimes it can't be found at all! It's so nice that everything is in one place.
I will give this app 6 stars if I could!
p.s. for those who dislike the app, try to remember it's FREE and no one is forcing you to use it...

Great app for Slate content, but could be better.

Like the title says, this app gives me all the latest content from Slate in a easily-digestible format; however, there are some kinks. When an image of text is used as a background image in a headline, the headline looks muddled and busy. Cut that out. Also, there's no night-time reading mode. I'd love a safari-like feature that changes the background of the text and the color of the text itself.

That all being said, this app is great and I love that the podcasts are built right in.

Almost never works on my iPad 2

The app fails to open most of the time on my iPad 2, the iPhone 6 version is much more reliable. I've only been a Slate subscriber for six months and I enjoy some of the pieces they seem to be more opinion pieces than reporting. The opinions vary from center right to center left, but I don't often feel I've learned as much from reading Slate as I hoped. Although I'm much further to the left than Slate, I would enjoy reading it more if I thought there was more jounrpnalistic content and less value judgements.
