This app is designed for people who are preparing to undergo a sleep study at a sleep clinic. Further, this app works well for people who are participating in longer term research studies.
The diary is modelled on the Consensus Sleep Diary and includes the most important questions needed by your sleep specialist. It is important that you complete your sleep diary each day after you wake up; it should take no longer than 60 seconds.
At any time after you have completed 2 days of sleep entries, you can make a PDF of your sleep data and share this with any healthcare professional at your discretion. Your data is always private and secure and is not stored on any 3rd party system.
One of the primary benefits of the app is its ability to automatically calculate your sleep metrics including:
SOL - sleep onset latency
# of Awakenings and Naps
WASO - wake time after sleep onset
TWAK - terminal wakefulness
TIB - time in bed
TST - total sleep time
SE - sleep efficiency
These metrics will be automatically included in weekly averages at the bottom of your PDF sleep report which is designed for letter-size printing (8’5 x 11). To view a sample report generated by the app, visit: bit.ly/sleepdiaryPDF

We have updated the app to improve the performance and address the PDF export issues some users were experiencing. Thank you for your support.

Log entry Great!!!
Super easy Log entry log entry function. The rest? I have No Idea. It could be a glictch or an app in development,,,, but for me only the daily log entry function works and that's not enough for me to say this is a great app. If they fix this, I will happily come back an ammend my review.
Update: Oct 5,2018:
Reinstalled app and now it doesn’t save any data from the first day entry. There’s no way to hit save when you finish an entry. There’s no way to find how to save it as a pdf. Which I complained about before.
The description is a wonderful description, but is this app out of a toy box? Seriously? It’s junk.
Just what I need
This tracks literally all of the information my counselor asks for regarding my sleep habits, and compiles it into an organized PDF - so instead of answering a bunch of questions, I just print this and she puts it in her file. Even without her prompting, I'd still use this as a way to track sleep; I initially got it for the nights I don't run SleepCycle, since I can enter the information manually.
It's true that there are some fixes that would improve performance: sometimes the information I type doesn't save, so I have to restart the app and try again. And if I want to fill in part of it during a middle-of-the-night wake-up, I have to wait until after midnight for it to be added to that date. With those fixes, this app would be the perfect manual sleep tracker:)
Want a refund
This app is of no use to me and I wish I could get a refund! At first I thought that it wasn't finished downloading because there was almost nothing on the screen. Then I realized that the only thing it allows you to do is to record some of the times related to sleep such as when you go to bed and when you wake up and how many times you're awake during the night. It doesn't allow you to enter anything about sleep hygiene habits such as caffeine intake, exercise, use of electronics before bed, anxiety or depression levels during the day, etc. also does not allow you to enter in your energy level or fatigue during the day. If my doctor is going to look at my sleep habits then she's going to want all of that information. What's the point of paying 6.99 for an app if I'm going to have to write all the other information in a journal? I wish I could get a refund.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
