Sling - scheduling made easy

Sling is a free communication and shift scheduling software. Built around four features - shifts, tasks, messages and newsfeed, - it allows you to organize all aspects of work on a single platform.
With Sling you can create employees’ work schedules, assign tasks, send messages to groups or individuals, and share information with your employees on the internal newsfeed. So instead of using multiple platforms, you will be using just one tool and keeping everything in one place.
Sling reduces the time it takes to create and manage schedules and helps to bring teams together, keep everyone informed and build better company culture.
Sling is available on the web and through the apps making work accessible anywhere.
- Shifts: set up shift schedules, manage time off and shift trade requests and handle unexpected changes without stress.
- Messages: send messages and chat with employees, share photos, videos, and links with coworkers – either in groups or individually.
- Tasks: create and assign tasks and get notified when they are completed. Remind employees about upcoming deadlines.
- Newsfeed: post and distribute information to your company’s feed for all employees to see.
This app requires a user account created through the Sling website.

Unusable - form validation is wrong
Form validation errors fire and prevent you from returning to a previous screen without giving the user any way to correct the validation error. For example, if no positions have been created and a user tries to create a shift, the validation fails because position is required. But the app doesn’t allow the user to create a position. Similar thing happens with filters. If i go into the filter menu i can never leave it and get back to the previous dashboard because the filter validation requires at least one position be selected yet there are no positions and no way to add a position from the filter menu.
Can use improvements
Still an awesome site/app. Found it much simpler to use than Tsheets.
Customer service here is really great. Friendly, informative.
Love all the features. The ceo asks for feedback. Obviously a small company, but impressed that the pres wants feedback over the phone.
They are open to suggestions and sounds like it will include everything else I need to schedule my employees. Needs a timer on the lunch period. A few more functions to edit shifts/schedule could be used on the app platform, but for $1.75 per employee per month, I’m really happy with it.
This app is extremely helpful with a snapshot look at shifts on a daily basis. My staff has embraced the ease in requesting coworkers to cover shifts. Lacks one key help at the moment, the ability to reflect entire days off due to holidays or days closed by removing all shifts for a day/s. That would make it close to perfect for us.
