Works Great! ....if....
We love it! Our current channel line-up Org,Blu, Sports X, HBO, all for $65/mo. The picture quality is better than my cable picture was.(Uverse)
Seems the trick is, your internet service speed and a good router. If these two aren’t up to speed, streaming can be frustrating. Local channels are already free and with a good remote (like Logitech Harmony) it’s simple to change back n forth. I also like having access to all these channels from my phone, don’t use it that often, but it’s great when I do.
Turning viewing packages on/off from home is another good feature. Just takes a minute, you’re finished, move on with my day. Always hated the 45 minute phone call to the cable company.
Sling TV review
I’ve been using Sling for a few months now and find it mostly reliable; it “ties up “ and I need to re-set it during nearly every session. I never have any streaming problems with my smart tv, so it shouldn’t be my ISP. However, the convenience of viewing on my iPad Pro still outweighs the minor irritation of the interruptions, and I’ve not had any lengthy interruptions. Sling’s tech support replied to me immediately when I first reported the problem - good job there.
The few times it works it’s good
The content and concept are good, but 7 times out of 10 it will connect to the chromecast and then nothing will load. It just says “Casting” and the load icon spins on the phone and the tv just displays the Sljng icon.
Then once it does load 1 of the 3 times out of 10, the show or movie freezes on the tv and has to be reloaded, which put you back in the gamble of whether or not the content is going to load at all. It’s a frustrating loop! But the 2 times out o 10 that it works like it is supposed to, it’s pretty good.
