What's New in Version 3.7.13
- Watch your TV programs on a big screen anywhere with SlingPlayer and your Roku streaming device
- Bug fixes
I've never been so frustrating in my life, this app needs to be rewritten from scratch. It feels like they got stuck in iOS 3, three generations have passed on and they still can't figure it out. Very so often the app disconnects from sling box and when directed to reconnect it ask you if you want to disconnect the other user!? Seriously? I only use the app on my iPhone and iPad separately and they both with me at all times; I have perfect server connections in both ends (wifi at home and wifi when out both for over 100mbps down and 50mbps up). Also, when switching the quality automatically is a nightmare, the app does not show anything on the tv (Airplay) when on standard definition, just audio. This developer surely knows how to make my life a nightmare, that do not deserve Apple's AppStore - TAKE IT DOWN NOW!
Slingbox with roku
So we heard slingbox came to roku and decided to give it a try. Got the slingbox which by the way is not cheap, got the roku which is not cheap either. Turned the whole thing up and it said nope, you have to use your smartphone and oh yes you have to buy a $15 application to make it work. Oh and if you want to use your iPad or other tablet, that is another $15. And the worst is once you get it to work it takes over the smartphone. You can't do anything on the smartphone while you are streaming, I mean nothing. I just takes over the phone. Brought it out in slingbox forum and thus many customers complained, no one from slingbox said a word. Like we were talking to a wall. Not ok. Now I have a slingbox and roku set that I can barely use. Think again if you are planning to set up slingbox and roku.
I have used my slingbox pro for the past 3 years on my iPhone and iPad with no problem As recently as January 2014 as a matter of fact. Apparently they have written the "upgrade" so as to make my sling box obsolete and incompatible now with both iPhone and iPad. Yet no one is offering to reimburse me for my $60 in apps I've purchased over the years nor will they replace my $299 obsolete sling box equip. They will however take $30 off the purchase of another new $299 sling box. Ripoff! Write your programs to keep your past equipment relevant. Watch your tv anytime anywhere? More like for a year or two at least until technology advances and we want to force you to buy another piece of equipment so we stay in business
