Does not work with iOS 10
This had been a great app for years, but it does not work properly on iOS 10. With iOS 10 you are able to view and hear what's on your TV, but as soon as you try using any routing and basic controls on the app like rewind, fast forward, change channel, etc. the app freezes and stays that way until you close and reopen it. However, if you can see the actual set top box, you can see the command was actually sent (the program rewound for instance). The mobile app does not work properly, and is basically unusable in iOS 10. It is now broken on my iPad and iPhone since the iOS 10 update. Sling support has not been any help, and they appear to keep trying to deny the problem although basic google searches show many people are experiencing the issue. FYI, I have power cycled and reset my phone, and uninstalled/reinstalled the app in attempts at troubleshooting, and it still does not work. I have also confirmed I am using the latest app version. I continue to watch for the app update here, because I want the reliable functioning app back.
No longer works on iPhone
I used the Slingplayer app successfully for several years with my Pro-HD Slingbox, but suddenly, I can no longer access it through my iPhone. The Pro-HD works just fine because I can access it from a computer. But the app continually returns a message that my email or password for my account are incorrect. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app several times, and nothing works. First I paid big money for the Slingbox, then I had to buy the app. OK, that was fine when everything worked as advertised. When I bought this app it was almost $30!! And now it is useless. I called tech support and they could do nothing for me. It is NOT the fault of the Slingbox itself. But the app started freezing every time I sent an IR signal to change channels. It DID change the channels, but the picture disappeared on the phone. That's why I re-installed the app. Now I can't even get it to recognize my account. SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIX THIS! I am going to go on Facebook right now and warn everyone. SAVE YOUR MONEY!
I paid $15 before the app became free with ad Support. I have always been very happy with it. I don't usually buy apps, but I think it is worth it to be ad free. I love being able to watch TV where ever I may be without restrictions on Pay channels or regional restrictions for sports games. Only one channel can be watched at the same time which includes the TV in the house and the mobile app. Works best if you have a vacation home where nobody's watching the TV so you can watch that channel whereever you might be.
