A music player for musicians, singers, dancers, choreographers, and students. It lets you really hear all the nuances.
Slow Down Music Player makes it easy to learn new songs by slowing down or speeding up play back without changing the pitch! The song will sound the same as the original just faster or slower.
You can use the phrase editor to isolate the tricky parts of a song like the solo or a cool lick, and loop that section over and over again.
Use it to slow down a song to work out a tricky solo, hear the lyrics, or work on a transcription. Use it to choreograph a dance routine. Makes a great vocal trainer.
Use the speed up feature it to review lecture notes, pod casts or audio books stored in your iPod Music Library
Works with guitar, bass, trumpet, piano, voice, or any other instrument or audio file.

Practical musician's tool
Great tool to study songs. Does what you need. Accesses songs in "iPod" or that which you have in your library as well as storing songs from other sources like emailed mp3's from band mates and others- handy as it's a hassle to get these into your library. I struggle a bit with the playback control bar in that I seem to select times forward or back as a step function and not continuous, but can't tell if it's my stubby fingers on an iPhone screen or the way the app works. That said, I find the app very useful and use it all the time to analyze songs and easily highly recommend it.
Very good, with minor bugs
Great for transcribing solos. It has very good sound quality when slowed down - few artifacts until you get below -20%. The dialog for defining phrases is useful for creating loops that line up with the bar line, so you can practice with them.
Some minor bugs are annoying. When defining a phrase, changes to the phrase start and end points sometimes don't "take" - the app reverts to the previous values. Also, I've had trouble entering numerical phrase names - 2:1 2:2, for example, to replace a previous name.
While the phrase definition dialog is great for precisely defining phrases, it would be nice to be able to define a phrase on the fly with an "A" "B" loop button.
Another handy feature would be a facility for adjusting the pitch of samples by cents, for recordings that aren't at A=440 pitch. That would save having to retune my guitar. :-(
Overall, though, it's a great app - nice work!
This app is awesome and has GREATLY helped me slow down music with guitar solos I was interested in learning. Now I can learn by ear by slowing down and dissecting my favorite solos. The best part is slowing a track down doesn't change the pitch (unless of course you use the pitch change feature). Worth the money if you are a musician who's tired of crappy tabs or online lessons and you have a desire/ability to learn on your own
