Slow Down Music Trainer
By Andy Davidson
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
A music player for musicians, singers, dancers, choreographers, and students. It lets you really hear all the nuances.
Slow Down Music Player makes it easy to learn new songs by slowing down or speeding up play back without changing the pitch! The song will sound the same as the original just faster or slower.
You can use the phrase editor to isolate the tricky parts of a song like the solo or a cool lick, and loop that section over and over again.
Use it to slow down a song to work out a tricky solo, hear the lyrics, or work on a transcription. Use it to choreograph a dance routine. Makes a great vocal trainer.
Use the speed up feature it to review lecture notes, pod casts or audio books stored in your iPod Music Library
Works with guitar, bass, trumpet, piano, voice, or any other instrument or audio file.
Whether you are a professional or a student this is a must have tool!
- Seamless integration with your devices built in iPod Music player. Access all of your music anywhere any time!
- Easy to define and save phrases
- Loop phrases or entire song
- Change tuning or musical key
- Share slow downed version of a song or phrase with your friends and students

MT 2.1- I like it! Still great 7 years later!
It's quite amazing what MT 2.1 does for just a couple of bucks, considering you can pay several hundred bucks for a Tascam slow downer device and around fifty for some of the current computer-bound guitar/riff/song software packages. Those products do a lot of other functions, too, but the fundamental and most desirable feature for learning songs with any of these programs or devices is the ability to slow the songs down significantly without introducing noise artifacts. MT does that quite well and you can change key easily too.
Some reviewers have complained that it's not so easy to enter songs into MT 'directly' from your IPhone. But how you do this is basically just like adding a song to an ITunes playllist: go to a web site, upload the song via an "upload" (browse) button, and then ITunes syncs it into MT. I'll be interested to see if even more features are added to later versions, but I'm very impressed with MT 2.1 and still find it hard to believe I got it for just a couple of dollars.
Still great after using it for 7 years!
Essential for any musician
The APP is amazing . It is great to learn songs or get one complicated section just right. The ability to raise or lower the pitch is the best feature I have found , no ore tuning your guitar up or down for every song. I use this app every day.
The developers also respond quickly to questions and updates for each new iOS.
****Great Work Guys ! *******
The app seems to work well so far.
Only issue is the app struggles with variable bit rate mps files. It only shows 0 to 23 seconds of the song at a time and is pretty much impossible to select a phrase from variable bit MP3 song. I was able to slow down an speed up but unable to choose a phrase to loop over.
So works well with fixed bit rate but not variable bit rate encoded MP3 files.
