"It’s one of those rare photography apps that creates effects that few others are capable of, and it does it easily and with better results."
— Marty Yawnick, Life In LoFi
How many times have you tried to capture artful images with your iPhone camera but were left wishing you had more features to work with? Slow Shutter Cam puts an end to mere snapshots and gives you some of the most powerful features of a DSLR camera. All this, in a package that fits in your pocket.
Slow Shutter Cam offers three capture modes to capture unique images:
MOTION BLUR: Equivalent to the shutter priority mode on a DSLR, the Motion Blur mode is perfect for creating ghost images, waterfall effects or suggesting movement in your photographs by adding a blur.
LOW LIGHT: In low light conditions, this capture mode allows the camera to accumulate every photon of light hitting the sensor. The longer the shutter speed, the more light it will accumulate. You can even fine-tune the result using the exposure compensation slider to achieve the exact effect you want!
LIGHT TRAIL: The Light Trail mode allows you to 'paint' with light, show car light trails and fireworks or capture any other moving light in a unique way. Unlike shooting with a DSLR and being tied to specific rigid settings to obtain good results, the Light Trail mode takes care of the essentials, letting your creativity soar!

The best app for taking pictures on iPhone
Yes, indeed. This is the best app for taking high quality low noise pictures on iPhone. I used to use Night Modes, but this is so much better. For instance Night Modes only offers 1/2 sec exposure, and with Slow Shutter Cam you can make 30/60 sec or even bulb if you use your headphones to press the volume button. If you want to take long exposures (longer than 1 sec), buy a small tripod and a holder for the iPhone (it mounts on the tripod, just buy the cheapest on ebay - search iphone tripod holder). The joby tripods are a very good option. They have smaller tripods for phones and point and shoots and bigger - I use the focus with the ballhead primarily with my DSLR, but it is perfect for iPhone as well - just too expensive if you plan to use it only with a phone...
I haven't even tested yet the light trail and motion blur modes and I know this is the best app for my iPhone photography. When compared to pics taken with the stock app, the difference is enormous. The ones taken with slow shutter look like made with a dslr - very smooth, no noise even in shadow areas. Just perfect! Do yourself a favour and just buy this app! But don't forget to get a small tripod and holder as well or it will be pointless.
I agree with the other reviews about the confusing terms. 'Motion Blur' 'Light Trail' and 'Low Light' sounds fine and dandy until you start using it and have no idea what it actually means. If I want to capture a night scene with streaking headlights should I use Motion Blur? Well, my shot will certainly have motion. But I'd also expect there to be Light Trails so maybe I should use that. But wait, this is at night so, naturally, Low Light is the best to use. Maybe I should just try them all and see which looks best. Oh wait, the moment is gone. Do you see the problem here? Please use more standard terms so that we can know what is going on. Then we can make better artistic decisions.
The Best Slow Shutter Cam
I love this app! I've had it for awhile and it just keeps getting better. I can take really amazing pictures and with the update there are a bunch of great things you can do with the pictures you take in the app. The settings are also super easy to use. I've taken some pretty impressive photos on this app and I love it, I'll never delete this app just because I'm so attached to it. If you like taking slow shutter pictures this is the app for it.
