SlowChat is not your ordinary messaging app.
Received messages appear on a map and move slowly toward you.
Messages become viewable when they arrive at your current location.
Enjoy a fun and laid-back way to chat.
Matching Function:
SlowChat has a matching function.
The following criteria can be set for matching.
• Distance
• Gender
• Country
• Language
You can send messages to user's whose criteria you match.
Likewise, you'll also get messages from users who match your criteria.
This function is turned on by default. If you do not want to receive matching messages, enter the following menus to turn the function off.
"Settings > Matching Settings > Enabled"
Note:
To prevent the other person from figuring out exactly where your message was sent from, your location can be shifted.
This function is turned on by default, but can be changed by entering the following menus.
"Settings > App Settings > Shift Send Location"
This setting can also be customized individually for each of your contacts.
"Chats > [Swipe the person you want to customize left] > Settings > Shift Send Location"
"Chat > The menu button in the top-right corner of the screen > Settings > Shift Send Location"

Poorly organized and poor programming
It's a neat idea to maybe get one or more pen pals from all over the globe. People send "initiating" messages, which gets sent to random members all over the world, who can respond back directly. BUT if you don't want to respond, you can't delete the message, so you just end up buried in messages, where people you WANT to talk to get buried and you have to "re-find" them every time you want to communicate.
The only options provided by the programming is to report or block someone. I don't need to report or block *everyone* I may not want to penpal with, so you just end up with this ridiculous amount of messages that are also devoid of a sorting mechanism. If the owners fix these glaring issues that make the app incredibly difficult to use, it would be interesting to more people and I might try it again.
Really cool app
It's a lot like a pen pal system, and everyone I've met in here is really nice (especially compared to other "random chat" apps).
I wish I could see where my messages that I send were at, though. I think that would be pretty cool.
I'm from the US, and I've connected with a good deal of people from China, Japan, Thailand, Italy, England, and Canada. It would be cool if there was more people, too, but who is in here no is pretty cool so it's alright 😊.
Interesting Way to Meet New People
I really like this app so far, I've met some interesting people from around the world at random, and I like how you can filter who gets your messages by country and gender, etc.
It's also easy to block/delete people you don't want to talk to anymore, and it's pretty cool to see your message flying across the world to your friend. I just wish this app was more well-known so that more people can use it.
It would be better if we can more easily see when a message was read or delivered.
Overall a unique cool app, I made a nice penpal from it :)
