• THE WRITING EXPERIENCE
Slugline is built for the hard part of screenwriting: the writing part. Slugline gives you the tools you need to craft your story, without your hands ever leaving the keys.

• THE POWER OF PLAIN
Slugline uses the free and open Fountain screenplay format, which is nothing more than plain text. You can work on your screenplay anywhere, using any writing app, including hundreds of mobile apps. When you open it in Slugline again, everything will be there, properly formatted.

• INTEGRATED OUTLINING
Start with an outline, then seamlessly transition to writing scenes. Or jot down a placeholder for your third-act twist while you’re still crafting your opening pages. Slugline allows you to be as structured as you like, even if that means not at all.

• BY FILMMAKERS, FOR FILMMAKERS
Slugline is the creation of filmmaker Stu Maschwitz and software designer Clinton Torres. Fountain is a collaboration between screenwriter John August and Stu Maschwitz. Together, we believe that screenwriting should be simple, smart, and open.

What's New in Version 1.2.1

Bug fixes! Version 1.2.0 was a big omelette, and some eggs got broken in the process. With 1.2.1, we’ve taped those eggs back together and put the gooey stuff back into them and boy am I regretting this analogy already.

⋮ Accent marks once again work the way they they shüd.
⋮ We fixed a case where Cut and Paste would stop working and beep at you annoyingly. Then we fixed another.
⋮ Centered text once again correctly previews and prints with any styling you may have applied (bold, italics, underlining).
⋮ Slugline once again remembers where you last were in your screenplay when you re-open it.
⋮ Whole-line Notes and Omits are once again removed from Preview and Print without leaving any telltale whitespace.
⋮ In its need for speed, Slugline 1.2 was a bit too hungry for power. We reduced power consumption considerably in this update, and plan on improving this more in the future.
⋮ Title Page values can once again contain “empty” lines (by putting at least two spaces on the line)
⋮ Kerning is now prettier in the Outline Panel.
⋮ Preview performance improvements. Is not a sentence.
⋮ Pasting text into the PDF name field works again.
⋮ We’ve improved the accuracy of text size and margins when printing.
⋮ Scroll bars are now prettier always.

We can never resist adding a few features too. Here's what's new in 1.2.1:

⋮ Use ⌘. to convert an element to a Scene Heading.
⋮ Use ⇧⌘. to convert an element to a Transition.

New from 1.2.0, and still rad now:

⋮ Better performance with long documents
⋮ Scene Numbers
⋮ Better, smoother zooming (and Trackpad zooming)
⋮ TV pilot template

As always, we are grateful for your reviews and feedback. Thanks for writing with Slugline!
