Worse app ever
This has to be the single worse app that I’ve ever used. It will not stay connected for more than a few seconds before you get disconnected and have to login again. The log is pretty much useless as to getting a time when the lock was last accessed, it only says a few seconds ago, an hour ago, a day ago.. hardly useful for keeping track of medication use. Then it will log a long list of errors for disconnects. The best part is I got a constant error after I upgraded a version of iOS and had to go back a version just to get the app to work, doing so caused me to lose the password so I tried to use the forgot password function only to get a “functionality coming soon” pop up.. whatever you do, don’t forget your password or your lock will be worthless. Thankfully after spending sometime I was able to remember mine and saved the lock. The app is just full of errors and really should not have been released in current condition. Please take the time to redo the app from the ground up, hire a company to come in and fix or replace. The lock is only as good as its app.. fix it!
Great concept poor support
Insomuch as the app only works with their smart lock, this is really a review about both pieces. My smart lock had corrosion on the battery door right out the gate but nowhere was this mentioned on the support page despite this apparently affecting 100s of users. I did stumble upon a YT video showing you how to sand off the oxide. Got a reply from the form support request TWO WEEKS LATER.
Then last week their server went offline. It became apparent that despite the fact that this could conceptually work solely via BT, it depends not only on Internet connectivity but their servers responding correctly. Could you image getting locked out of some important medicine cabinet for days??? DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS FOR IMPORTANT THINGS OR YOU WILL BE LEFT IN A LURCH.
Finally the app doesn’t actually work reliably as depicted in marketing material. The presence mode often left things unlocked when you walk away. So you’re stuck with firing up the app, hitting Connect (twice for some reason) and then clicking unlock. The auto lock feature also doesn’t work reliably — only if your phone is still on and in BT range. Seems the command to auto lock should be engineered to be in the device.
Lock is going back to the store. ☹️
Nothing to like.
The app is buggy at best. The only thing worse is the actual product. The app is full of non functional or misdirected buttons. I thought the fact that it cannot maintain a connection for more then a second or two was bad enough but now it won’t connect to the cube at all. What a sad joke.
As an FYI I ordered a dozen of these cubes and after days of trying to connect and contacting tech support, the company finally got back to me. They informed me that there is a known issue with the coating on their battery door and that it requires sandpaper or a nail file to remove the coating. If you know this, why not include a note in the box or say so on your website; instead of leaving your customers to be frustrated for days on end?
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
