SmartThings lets you easily monitor, control, and secure your home from anywhere in the world. To start, simply purchase the SmartThings Hub, download the free app, and add as many connected lights, locks, sensors and more to create a smart home that matches your unique personality.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
What's New in Version 2.6.0
We've been hard at work making the SmartThings app better for you. Here's what's we have been working on:
• New full-screen slider control for speaker volume, thermostat temperature, and light brightness selection.
• Lots of bug fixes and improved VoiceOver support.
Thanks for supporting SmartThings! If you're happy about the improvements, we'd really appreciate an app review.

The app just keeps getting worse
Using an iPhone as a presence sensor no longer works. You have to manually open the app to get it to recognize your presence so any home automation rules that depend on presence are pretty much useless now.
Now with this update they brag about their new full screen sliders for lights, thermostats and speakers. But they just made the experience worse. Now instead of directly adjusting brightness from the light screen, you have to leave the light screen to see the full screen slider. Pretty bad but it gets worse. Adjusting the slider on that screen doesn’t change anything until you exit out of that screen. If you don’t get it how you want it, you have to go back to the slider screen make another adjustment and exit the slider screen again to see if you got it right this time. If not, keep repeating the process until you do.
Update ruined the app
The new update really made the app sluggish. The dimmer slide is a pain to work with. When you increase or decrease the brightness it doesn't take affect until you go back to the Dashboard. So you have to guess the setting you want. If you go back to adjust it further the slider reverts back to 100%. Before the update it would dim or brighten as you moved the slider until you find the appropriate brightness. I really dislike this update!!!
Zwave dimmer switches aren’t dimming any more
For some reason none of my zwave dimmer switches can be dimmed from the app any longer. On/off controls still work fine though. These switches had no issues with dimmer control with previous versions of the app.
