SnapNDrag Pro - organize, edit and share screenshot
By Yellow Mug Software
Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
SnapNDrag Pro is screen capture made ridiculously easy. Here is an app you didn't know you need until you try it.
-- WHO IS IT FOR?
As the old saying goes, "A screenshot is worth a thousand words."
There are myriad reasons to take a screenshot: note-taking, tech support, comparison shopping, on-screen reference etc.
SnapNDrag is the perfect screenshot tool for students, teachers, designers, developers, support … just about anyone who uses a computer, really.
Why use SnapNDrag over OS X's built-in Grab? Because SnapNDrag does much more than just *take* screenshots. Please read on.
-- SHOOT ● ORGANIZE ● ANNOTATE ● SHARE
SnapNDrag makes taking screenshots super easy. Click, select and the screenshot is added to your library.
SnapNDrag maintains a library of all the screenshots you have ever taken. Think of it as iPhoto for screenshots. You can organize by Folders. You can batch rename items. You can type into the search field and get live updates in the browser. SnapNDrag maintains its own Trash so you undo a delete if you need to.
If a screenshot is worth a thousand words then an annotated screenshot is worth a million. Simply double click to open an item for editing in Preview. Use Preview's edit tools to add text, draw arrows or circles. When you hit Save in Preview, SnapNDrag instantly picks up the changes and updates the browser. Since what you're editing is a *copy*, you can easily revert to the original.
When it comes time to share, SnapNDrag provides many ways to do that. Use the Share button to send via Mail, Messages, AirDrop, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr. Or drag a screenshot from the browser and drop it into the Mail or Message you're composing -- in fact, you can drag it to pretty much any app where it makes sense. And if you're old school, copy-and-paste works too.
-- POWERFUL YET SIMPLE
Don't let SnapNDrag's simplicity fool you. When you dig deeper, you will find lots of options to satisfy the power user. For example, you can activate functions using global hot keys. You can also run SnapNDrag as a background app (no Dock icon).

What's New in Version 4.1.5
Previous update added many features but also inadvertently introduced a couple of bugs (sorry!). Version 4.1.5 fixes those bugs.
Added in version 4.1.3:
New: Make duplicates of existing screenshots with annotations
New: Print one or more screenshots directly from the history browser
New: When one or more text boxes are selected, you can now use cmd-plus, cmd-minus to adjust font size; cmd-B to toggle bold; cmd-I to toggle italic
Not as good as the free version…
…which is no longer available. So it’s $9.99 or find another product.
As a graphic designer, I take screenshots all the time. I was happy with the free version of SnapNDrag, but wanted to support the developer and paid for the software. What a mistake.
The current version of SnapNDrag Pro defaults to saving the image in PNG format. Every time. This is annoying, as I prefer to save most screenshots in JPG format. If the software would default to the format of the latest save, that would be fine. But no.
The free version had much better control over JPG quality. It would, in real time, display the file size as the user adjusted JPG quality, in increments of 5%. Now there are only three JPG settings, LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH. Thanks for dumbing down a useful feature.
Also, what used to be a simple, straightforward interface has become a PITA. The folders feature means nothing to me.
To sum it up, the $9.99 version is a step down from the free version. I would say the developers felt the need to justify the price and maimed the product in doing so. The app is worth $2.99 at best.
Great Snapshot App!
I’ve been using this for snapshots on my Mac for a few years and found it to be extremely flexible. It can snapshot a selection, window, full screen or timed (so you can get a snapshot with a menu open). When taking a full screen snapshot, it handles multiple monitor setups well and creates a snapshot for each screen at once.
(UPDATED) I use it daily
UPDATE: I’ve been using this app for a few years, it is essential to my daily work. The developer keeps adding improvements and streamlining the workflow. Great!
this is a very useful app, a great way to capture and organize screen grabs and clips.
I’ve not had any problems with it at all, updates come often with some good new functionality.
please support this developer.
