They do not tell you what scores mean
This app would be more helpful if they explained what the snore score indicated. I even looked on the website and sent an email to the company. I have used it 5 days with varying results based on listening to audio and looking at graph and seeing my "snore score" each day. But I do not know if a higher score or a lower score is thought to be more desirable based on the opinions of the makers of this app. Also it is hard to tell if high scores are when I am snoring more or less. I can use this app simply to listen to how I sound at night. To hear the whole night and not just snippets I had to pay $6.99 and upgrade otherwise it would just be some of the loudest times, the peaks. I was concerned about the times that I was more quiet as I had read a concern in sleep apnea is when I am not breathing and also that breathing can be so poor that it is just a whistle or a wheese and can be very quiet. So maybe this is not a great tool for finding out if sleep apnea is present unless there is a way to be able to hear for those symptoms and as the makers of this app suggest playing it for help providers.
Generally does what it says it will
I've only used it a few nights and I did pay for the full upgrade. First thing I noticed is that the Soundscape sound I select doesn't play except for on the selection screen. It is advertised to play to help me fall asleep so I expect it to play when I start a session and turn off when the time expires when I said I wound start sleeping. Nothing. Emailed them and no response yet but I'm not over anxious yet. Another thing is that I use a fan in my bedroom for white noise. When running the fan, my recordings always show very low snoring volumes. If I turn the fan off, I have high to "epic" snore volumes. Seems the app could do a better job finding a baseline ambient room noise volume so it could provide more accurate recordings/results when the room has constant background noise such as a fan running. I am pleased with this app in general as it does let me actually record and hear my snoring patterns as it has me concerned being single with nobody telling me if I'm not breathing at night.
If your snoring is interfering with your love life, get this app!!! Pay the $6.99, well worth it.
I have been wondering for years how bad my snoring really was. I often felt that my husband was exaggerating. Not only did this app help me to really understand how bad it was, it gave me a solution. This app had a link to the ZQuiet mouth guard. I used it last night and I went from a high snore score rating of 70 down to a 7. If I never discovered this app I would never have found the ZQuiet mouthguard. To find a link to the mouthguard just go to the settings tab and you'll see it there under the menu. The $6.99 was well worth fixing my snoring that has been an issue for over 15 years. The ZQuiet mouthguard cost about $12 to check it out and if it works then you pay an extra $70 to keep it. Otherwise return it. No extra charge.
