They do not tell you what scores mean
This app would be more helpful if they explained what the snore score indicated. I even looked on the website and sent an email to the company. I have used it 5 days with varying results based on listening to audio and looking at graph and seeing my "snore score" each day. But I do not know if a higher score or a lower score is thought to be more desirable based on the opinions of the makers of this app. Also it is hard to tell if high scores are when I am snoring more or less. I can use this app simply to listen to how I sound at night. To hear the whole night and not just snippets I had to pay $6.99 and upgrade otherwise it would just be some of the loudest times, the peaks. I was concerned about the times that I was more quiet as I had read a concern in sleep apnea is when I am not breathing and also that breathing can be so poor that it is just a whistle or a wheese and can be very quiet. So maybe this is not a great tool for finding out if sleep apnea is present unless there is a way to be able to hear for those symptoms and as the makers of this app suggest playing it for help providers.
Forces you to upgrade.
I've been curious if I snore as I've been involuntarily rolling onto my back lately so I decided to use the free version of this app. The first 2 nights worked great and I now know I do snore mildly, most likely due to a stuffy nose. I tried using my 3rd free session and it recorded but the audio was all messed up. After 3 sessions it locks you out until the next day. The "locking" feature doesn't bother me as I don't want it to interfere with my alarm clock when I need to use it. However, the following night when I tried to use my next session (after looking at an ad) it would not let me listen to the audio. It clearly shows that it recorded me for the whole night but when I try to listen to it the app completely refuses to allow access. In short, this app FORCES you to upgrade. Which is unfortunate because I thought it was working so well. Judging by all the glitches I wouldn't even want to upgrade, aside from the fact that it's too expensive for an app.
$6.99 version is well worth it.
I have sleep apnea. Just converted from CPAP to oral appliance and was adjusting it more, tighter, every night. Wife out of town so no one to report on my snoring. My first night with this app, recorded every snore. Again tightened the appliance the recommended amount and that night recorded. Result was a full night recording of just cat and dog noises, which it registers as sleep apnea noise. Checked and No snores. So now I use the oral appliance nightly, sleep better, and check the app for snoring. A detailed record and no snores. I would have paid $200 to get this test result. $6.99 is worth every penny. By the way, the alarm works in the background. It is a snap to review the record and see if it actually recorded snores which are quite evident on the display, and audibly, or just high ambient background noise. I love this app.
