What's New in Version 1.3.2
I finally found an app that is slower to load and use than the App Store, and even less reliable! Sockupied. It took me multiple attempts and finally over 28 minutes to download one issue. In comparison, an issue of Interweave Knits takes about 1 minute. And once downloaded, do I have the patterns on my iPad to carry with me so I can use them on the bus or plane? Nope. Gotta download each pattern separately, from the issue.
The downloads start over _each_ time they're interrupted--for example, if you leave the Sockupied app to check mail. There's a long "Initializing Download" period, followed by a "Waiting to download" period, followed (finally!) by "Downloading...". Downloading is slooooooow. You can view the pages as they are downloaded, but beware! If you go beyond the viewable pages you get the "Initializing...Waiting...Downloading sequence on each un-downloaded page. If you do this much past the viewable pages the thing hangs and the download is "Interrupted." You can't reliably start it again without closing the app first. Sometimes you even have to reboot the iPad. And oh yes, it starts all over again, at the beginning. Twice I've reinstalled the app, hoping....
None of the other interactive magazine apps that I use have these problems. I hope it's fixed soon. Meanwhile, I'll have to do without the issues I've already paid for.
