***Best of 2016!***
The all-new Solar Walk 2 is a powerful educational tool at the edge of graphic technology. Solar Walk 2 offers an interactive encyclopedia of the solar system seen as never before. Based on real physics and latest photographic data, Solar Walk 2 comes to life with stunning visual effects of planetary atmospheres, solar flares, auroras and asteroid belts to give the space depth and feel that hadn’t yet been possible on a mobile device.
***This is a universal app for tvOS and iOS. Optimized for iPad Pro. ***
NEW IN SOLAR WALK 2
The life of the solar system is presented as a series of events: celestial (solar eclipses, conjunctions, etc.) and man-made missions. The user can see experience the progress of space exploration and see how the planets moved at the time and how they are going to move in the near future.
You will see Sputnik fly over the Earth and martian rovers moving on the red planet. Every notable event of every mission is in the calendar for you to explore, including the latest discoveries from New Horizons of Pluto and Curiosity on Mars.
Planets move just as they do in real life. You can view a solar eclipse from space as a shadow crossing the Earth and see exactly what regions it covers at what times for each and every eclipse of the covered range.
Solar Walk 2 can be enjoyed using with sounds, put on the headphones and dive into the outer Space moving from one planet to another, get acquainted with the missions exploring the other worlds.
We collected the highest resolution textures available to human race to date and integrated them beautifully, specifically for retina displays. Photos acquired during the latest mission to Pluto are already in the app, making it the most fresh and up-to-date space simulator.
More than two thousand of the brightest stars, 21 asteroids, 10 comets, 8 planets and more are in their correct relative positions for any given date and time. And the list is growing! We’re eager to add new dwarf planets, missions and more!
How is it different from Solar Walk 1?
Solar Walk 2 has all-new graphics, interface and updated planetary textures. Your exploration of the solar system in Solar Walk 2 is guided by a carefully hand picked calendar, a collection of simulations of celestial events with stunning visuals. You can still fly around the solar system and explore it on your own, like in Solar Walk 1, but now you have a comprehensive tour guide at your disposal.
Apple Watch App:
A quick quiz lets you know how good you’re at astronomy. If the results are pretty poor you can start exploring the Solar System using handoff function: a small icon of the Solar Walk 2 app will appear on the lock screen of your device, slide it up and enjoy your outer space journey.
Unlock Premium access to history of human space exploration and man-made satellites. Travel with Voyager 1, see how gravity assists helped Cassini get to the outer edges of the solar system, and explore Hubble as if you were right next to it.

What's New in Version 1.4.1
Minor bug fixes & Stability improvements
Buy, buy, buy
I love the app and the fact that they even have Planet X in there as our 9th planet, but you have to buy and buy and buy more add Ins to get the full benefit of the app. Outside of the buy, buy, buy it is a great app
Screwy Upgrade Process
Purchase the $2.99 app first to get rid of the in your face face ads then purchase the Premium package. What you don't realize is the Premium package for $8.99 doesn't get rid of ads. Content is ok, but not worth $8.99 with in your face ads. If you purchase the Premium package first and then fork over $2.99 for the base upgrade to get rid of the obnoxious ads you're screwed as the Premium upgrade will not transfer over. Vito says go to Apple for a refund. Vito and its Product Mgr gets a F for this design flaw.
This app is fine. But I do not like how when you zoom far away from a planet, It will be replaced by a giant dot! In the first game, the dot was small, and looked more realistic. The giant dots look horrible and unrealistic when you take a screenshot of the solar system from far away. Seriously! In this app, Pluto looks as big as the sun from far away!!!! But this app has MUCH better graphics than the first one, besides the missions.
Probes that are not the size of the asteroid they are visiting. For example, it might say that the probe is 10 meters across, and that the asteroid is 2 kilometers across, but when you see them, it looks like the probe is 1/5 the size of the asteroid! Please fix this.
Ida's moon, dactyl
Add an option to remove the oversized planet icons! Planet nine does not look as big as the sun from thousands of light years away! Or at least make the PLANET dots smaller than the STAR dots!! It is so weird how Venus is the same size as the sun. At least make the icons a little bit smaller!
Change the movement
Why is the generic model for asteroids without a model ROUND!!! If you were too lazy to make individual models for each asteroid, you could have at least made a generic model that was the correct shape! Wow, I am disappointed!
Proper information about moon distances! Why does it say how far Europa is from EARTH? Duh! It is the same distance as Jupiter is from Earth! In the first game, it actually told you how far it is from JUPITER, not EARTH! Which IS useful information.
Add more info about titan! It only talked about how big it is?What about the methane lakes? And thick atmosphere?
Remove the MEGA ASTEROIDS. The asteroid particles in the asteroid belt and Kuiper belt are too large! Keep them for demonstration in the solar system view, but hide them when you zoom in on objects! With Pluto, it looks like the asteroids are thousands of times bigger than it, which is impossible! In the first game, it hid the asteroids when you zoomed in!
Better missions! Add animations! Like in the first app! In the first app, you can see curiosity moving and taking samples But in this app, all you see is a badly made, non moving rover. The developers got lazy on the missions. This app has more missions than the first one, but the few missions in the first app are much better quality.
Clouds should not move the same at any speed, please get rid of this annoying feature!
More freedom with time controls. Please. In the first game, you could zoom to Earth and make the time as fast as possible. In this game, it limits you to like 3 hours per second. I really wanted to view some probes leaving Earth in fast time, instead of having to switch to the stupid solar system view, where the probe is suddenly replaced with a dot the size of the sun.
