Best solitaire game for the iPhone
As a huge fan of card games I've played many solitaire spinoffs. I would have to say that this is one of the best. Comparing it to games like fairies solitaire and Pocket Card Jockey there are several comments. First is that overall it's less skill based in the actual game of solitaire then other games like I mentioned. It's more like normal solitaire where you are more dependent on your luck of draw than your actual skill. Until you can get the item and power up that lets you see into your deck, it's hard to make strategic decisions without guessing. Instead the important decisions are what power ups and items you buy, which leads to very slow and often boring initial starts until you get your items.
For those who enjoy the mechanics of solitaire but grow bored of it quickly as soon as they start to play, Solitairica is a breath of fresh air. The rogue-like twist ensures that you will lose multiple times before you win, but you don't win 'em all in most other solitaire games either.
The only criticism I have is that I don't feel that the extra decks add enough variety to the game to make me want to play again, now that I've journeyed to Castle Stuck and defeated the emperor. But even considering that, I still got about 10 hours of gameplay from this game, which is plenty for the price.
Unique and Fun
I have maxed out all of the perks, yet I keep coming back to play this unique twist on an old favorite. At first, it was hard for me to swallow the idea of having to buy the spells and items every time I start again. However, I now understand that this is crucial to keeping the game fresh and giving me a challenge for the long haul. The only suggestions I have are to add more challenges to beat and make the game less processor-intense on older devices (my phone gets really hot when playing.)
