Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Do you ever want to know how many times you played the song you're listening on your iPod or iPhone? Would you like to know the last time you heard it or any other information that you see in iTunes, but is not available in your device? No problem, with SongData you can consult this and more information from your songs, including comments, and album art.
As this information is contained in the song, you can use the application offline as SongData do not download any information.
What's New in Version 3.1.5
- Several UI fixes
- Some fields added (BPM is back!)
Finally, visible play count while mobile!
I've long used play count in iTunes on Mac and Windows laptops and desktops to track what I listen to most and compare how quickly new music bubbles to the top and what artists and songs reliably stay at the top of my choices to play. Since buying an iPhone last year, it has been greatly freeing to no longer be tethered to my computer while listening but it has been frustrating to lose visibility to how many times I've played songs, other than through relative comparisons in play count-based playlists. Finally, the SongData app restores that visibility!
I'm guessing that this app hooks into data in memory for the current song being played and that's why it only shows the current song being played and not a list of songs in the library and their play counts, but that is a vast improvement over no visibility. Accepting that limitation, this app is more than sufficient and does what it does perfectly.
Wow! It's much better than I expected!
So first off, It does just as promised. The app shows all the info of the song including the metadata as well. Not only does it work flawlessly, but it also displays album artwork beautifully. At the top you get the main artwork, and when you scroll lower it shows a partially transparent larger version of the album artwork as a background. The only thing I can think of that could make this app better, is the option to edit the song info such as a mispelled title (Which is why I got it xD)
Regardless, I imagine it is quite hard to program that considering no other app has that option either.
Well done to the creator! 😄
Just what I needed
This little app is perfection. Automatic, don't need to do anything - just play songs however you normally play them and this app will show you the info. (I love playing classical music and the iPhone will not display composer and other data. Now I have means to do it.)
