What's New in Version 4.19.1
Performance improvements and bug fixes.
Get A Load Of This App
You still cannot view your own followers, profiles, messages, or customize your browsing information on the mobile app. This not only makes for an unenjoyable experience for those who produce content on the site, but it is also forced upon everyone (e.g. there is no way to simply use the desktop site on one's phone). For this reason, I cannot recommend this product. Much to my chagrin, this review doesn't matter, because using SoundCloud with one's mobile device makes the app mandatory. Not very well played. I recommend that the web developers think about prioritizing the handfuls of gaping and unreasonable issues that these are, but it's been this way for over a year. My faith in the app is smaller than the amount of basic features it provides, and the breadth of my dissatisfaction is greater than the length of time that has gone by for which these shortcomings have been ignored. The user interface on its own is nothing to be proud of, and the only good thing about the app itself is that (by some miracle), its thin strings and duct tape manage to offer the same sound-files that were uploaded on the distant, otherwise functioning website. The app feels like it was built by a third party (nonetheless of third graders on third-world computers, using the common sense of only their third brain cells). Maybe by it can win first place for the title of World's Most Embarrassing App Developed By An Actual Company.
Cover art, utilization and syncing issues
Ever since this recent update my music's cover art doesn't appear on the lock screen... it just displays a generic music note. I had thought it just me but then I saw other reviews for this current version which stated the same issue I was experiencing. Also it would be nice to see some of the features from the web version added unto the app version such as commenting, profile customization and overall profile features (ex: background image & status) because in the mobile versions current state there isn't a whole lot of utilization options. On another note there is also a syncing issue between the web version and the app. Basically when I perform activities and changes on the web version such as Likes, Reposts, and profile editing and go to the mobile version, the changes don't appear on the app ...even after closing and reopening it. I would have to refresh each individual section ( Profile, Likes, Reposts) for the recent activities and changes to display. Please address these issues because SC is a very reliable music source and this is really disappointing :/
Okay so I just updated the app and I can't even listen to music! Every time I go to play a song, it plays 2 seconds of it and then closes out the app. I have an iPhone 6s so it isn't like my phone is super old. I've tried refreshing the app but it still doesn't work. I have used this app for 6 months+ and it has never done this before. I even deleted old playlists and it still isn't working. My friend doesn't have this problem on her Samsung so I guess it's IOS. PLEASE FIX!
Now I can't even get on the app. I signed out of my account, to see if that was the problem but it wasn't. I open the app and after 2 seconds, it closes it and brings me back to my home page. I love SoundCloud and it's the only app I use to listen to music. PLEASE FIX. I've even done the newest update and it made it even worse.
