PRAISE FOR SOUNDCLOUD
“Once you find an artist you like on SoundCloud, you can then see which songs that artist likes and get lost in a rabbit hole of music awesomeness. This kind of musical serendipity is very specific to SoundCloud because of the platform’s unique content.” - TechCrunch, Alex Mozaed
“SoundCloud is a great place for finding new music from emerging artists.” - The Next Web, Owen Williams
“SoundCloud Go is a big move for the company, which built its business by allowing artists to upload their music and share it with fans on social media and blogs. Acts like Drake, Lily Allen, Kanye West and Miley Cyrus have used it to premiere songs, or share works in progress. It has established the Berlin-based company as an influential player in the music industry, especially in the dance music genre.” - Mark Savage, BBC News

What's New in Version 4.11.0
Performance improvements and bug fixes.
Love it, but something is missing.
I love the iPhone application and especially being able to track stations from one song and listen to an entire station. What becomes frustrating, however, is not being able to review the list of songs that I've RECENTLY heard. If I forget to like a song and I don't remember it, I'd have to track the stations all over again - even here chances of finding a song could be difficult. Here, a history setting could prove to be useful. No one may want to find a song from months ago because chances are the already liked it , but a history feature that would allow a recovery of a weeks worth of song plays is helpful.
Always lose your song position
There are a ton of key features that are missing from this app. Search is broken - you must type the exact name for anything to pop up. No true playlist feature. The app will frequently lose your track position. This is by far the most annoying thing. Lock your phone, switch headphones, lose connection, or just simply pausing and coming back will cause the app to reset and throw you to the home screen. Continuing a song where you left off seems so basic, but yup not here. No wonder they are trying to sell the platform. If there were other sources to listen to the channels I like, I would delete this app in a heartbeat. The one positive thing is that I've been able to listen to unique content that's readily available to other platforms. Other companies are fast approaching on providing that same content, then I'm out ✌🏿️.
Was once awesome now not so much.
As others said the app force closes when it is minimized. I also noticed when my phone screen turns off and then I pause Soundcloud the app force closes. This is frustrating when listening to anything other than songs, especially podcasts. Also the app does not automatically pause anymore when my headphones are unplugged. This has happened in the past but was remedied. It has started happening within one of the last few updates. I don't like ads, but I can deal with those of these other problems are fixed. I like Soundcloud for its services, and at one time it seemed that the app and desktop site were hand and hand. Now I rather listen on my desktop before considering to open the app on my phone.
