SpaceLab is a monophonic synthesizer. It has four ways to play: keyboard, graph, guitar, and wind controller. Underneath those interfaces is a fully programmable subtractive synth with oscillators, filters, envelopes, effects, FM, presets, an arpeggiator, full MIDI control, and much more!
-AudioBus fix for iOS 8.
-Full-screen layout for newer phones.

Won’t open with iOS 11
Used to like it, definitely worth a dollar, but not if it doesn’t even open. Just pops up a message saying the developer needs to update it to work with iOS 11.
grear update thanks!!
this is such an under rated overlooked little synth!! love it so much. thanks for the update
Cheap, functional, and fun!
SpaceLab is actually an "older" monophonic (one note at a time) synth app from 2012 that got a surprise update after 2 years to add AudioBus integration. Obviously, this upgrades the original from "toy" status to an actual usable iOS instrument.
And when you consider that it generally sells for 99 cents, takes virtually no memory, and offers quite a bit of depth and flexibility in crafting sounds, it's actually a nice little value. Now, don't get me wrong, the interface is largely atrocious and pre-Retina. And it doesn't have the versatility to craft massive bass notes or other modern sounds. But there's a variety wave options, filters, oscillators, and effects that function quite well, plus a number of options on how to control them (plus MIDI!). It's not "must own" but if you want another cheap synth to check out, you could do much, much worse.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
