New Version is Horrible…...
On my iPad I have more options than on the Mac version. I'd like more options on the Mac version.
I play on the most difficult level and it's as if I'm playing in beginners somewhere online. My partner trumps with the king of spade and even though he has more spades ends up getting set because he, for some reason, trumped with his highest spade. That only happens when someone is throwing off and never in real life.
And sometimes the partner recognizes when to throw off and other times will take five books after bidding two. You cut corners on your programming when instead of giving the other two opponents brains and know how you supplement their ability to win by taking away from my partner's abilities. You're using my partner to manipulate the game…I don't like that.
It is fun to pass the time once in a while. I just wish there were more options for a Mac, a more challenging game and you didn't use my partner to win/lose games.
You’ve updated the version and I hate it. Now my partner is not only a moron, but completely passive. Like when my nil has been set instead of my partner trying to set the other team he throws off when on many ocassions he easily could have set them as well.
This is no longer like real life at all.
I’m going to start my search for another program or just start playing online again.
Not bad, but will agrevate you
This is not a bad game app, but it will agrevate you as your partner is using a logic that is beyond my comprehensison. He bids a 1 hand 60% of the time, and will lead with an Ace and have multiple spades in his hand. Basically when ever your partner bids a 1 bid, you just prepare yourself for multiple bags. Trying to bid NIL is exciting though, as you are totally on your own, as your partner will lead random cards that do you no favors in trying to hit a ni.
10 and 11 bids are the norm for the table, I find myself actually getting excited when I see the table get to an 11 bid.
It is a fun time killer, but the partner logic really needs some refinement, because if this was real life and your partner was a buddy, you would never invite him the sit back down across from you.
Sometimes partner is stupid
Funny thing, but sometimes the partner seems to be playing very smart. But more often, he plays as if he doesn’t know how to play the game. I have lost many times because my partner threw off a high spade when a small one would have done fine. As a result, he no longer had the high spade necessary (later in the hand) to cover my nil or cover his bid. It almost seems that you get a different partner (or different skill level) from one game to the next. It’s a fun game when I get the smart one. It’s frustrating when I get the stupid one.
One other thing — sometimes the program fails to give credit for a successful nil. I have seen this on several occasions, and I have lost because of this also.
All in all, the program is not very well written, not much attention to detail.
