Its a peaceful game, but personally I prefer Osmos
The game in itsself is alright, and I suppose worth the $3 price, but for a Mac game I expected just a little bit more.
Its not that it needs more levels, its that it needs a better feel. they try to get the feeling of being in water, but they do a poor job. the lines shown when going up or down in the water look odd and flat instead of watery-wavy. The music doesn't feel like Im exploring underwater. something like Osmos would feel so much better. the flashing circles indicating "food" is near are too large and strange, not to mention illogical. if its supposed to be an exploration game, let us explore. Don't point us around and instead make smaller maps that are randomly generated and have food all over, and don't tell us where it is. One more thing is that I'm colorblind, and this game doesn't let me see very well. Mostly because the game is too light. the text is sometimes almost unreadable, and the background in the game is so bright I can't tell it apart from the objects. A zoom feature would be useful too.
Please just consider some of these changes. This is probably not a game I will play very often because it doesn't hold my interest from feeling like it was rushed and cheaply made. just a few simple changes would easily up the grade
Playing it on the iPad might increase the fun factor a little bit. Otherwise it can get quite obring especially when trying to find all the food of a particular color… it's more a hide and seek game in that regard. A change in music would be nice but maybe it will change as one progresses… I haven't gotten that far.
It does look beautiful. The graphics are stunning. At times however it is hard to discern the color of the food and sometimes it's completely hidden.
What I also don't understand is are the loading screens… they aren't long but for a little game like this they don't seem justified. Maybe on the iPad but not on an iMac.
Overall it's fun to kill some time with. I bought it on sale… in my opinion it shouldn't be more than $0.99
Not that the devlopers didn't put a lot of time and passion into this… it just doesn't have a high replay value.
Do not buy
I’ve never written a bad review before, but there’s a first time for everything. I saw this game on steam and decided to look for it in the app store. I think I remember playing the first version of this years ago and loving it. But this one is horrible! I can’t even move the character. The need to update this app, it’s running on version 1.0 since it’s release almost 2 years ago, very sad.
