Needs to be updated!

I like this app. What got me to buy this app was using it on my iPhone, which is a great app as well. It keeps track off all of my email accounts.

What I don't like is that the notifications that show up in the top right corner don't work. It will say the subject and sender and has two options, "show" and "close". When I click "show", it doesn't do anything. I spent $10 on an app and it can't even get basic notifications correct. I went ahead and just shut off the notifications. At least the little bubble that it showed up in would close when I pushed "close". I can say that the icon in the toolbar is neat. When there isn't any new emails, it will stay black. When I get an email, it turns blue and has a number by it indicating how many emails I have. When I click it, it will open the sparrow app, unlike the notification bubble.

Also, it doesn't use that much CPU as someone else indicated. While it's not being used, it averages less than 5mb and about 150mb in use. Which isn't bad, considering I got the 8gb ram (:

Geez guys...

I have no idea why everyone's reviews are so horrible. I mean, I get that you guys are upset that you feel Sparrow's devs "sold out", but they basically said they weren't making enough money on the app to support even a few full time employees. Geez, curse a company for accepting some money for their work from a huge company that can support their project for a lifetime. I have had zero issues with the app so far, its simple and easy. I wouldn't ever tell anyone to move to Sparrow if they don't have a huge thing for GMail as I think the Mail app in OSX is perfectly fine for standard POP stuff. I'm a big Google user and recently added all my accounts to my 2 main Gmail accounts so that everything will be synced up and backed up. Sparrow works great for this scenario, allowing me to send emails from my alias accounts which is something the default OSX app can't do.

The perfect mail app now disabled

There is nothing like Sparrow for reading email in Mac OS X. I dump Mail and have been using Sparrow in may Mac and iPhone since they came out and never looked back. When Google acquired the team for the talent, not the product, I was worried that this was the edn of it. I looked at alternatives, but there was nothing (PostBox is slow and not elegant, and doent have enough features). So I keep using Sparrow hoping it wll last enough until Apple decides to realy do some design work on Mail. However, after the last update the app started to hang in my new MacBook Pro with Retina Dislay. The circle of death just keeps gping ntil I kill it. It seems to be associated with one of my accounts, may be with some toxic email, because it hangs when it starts donloading email and i tried to delete accoutns before it hangs to diagnose and it is my work account that fails. Hope this helps the developers to try to fix this and I will give this app the 5 starts it deserves. I am back to Apple Mail and I am not enjoying it at all. Please keep it alive!
