People normally read at a rate of 150-200 words per minute. With Spdr (pronounced “Speeder”), you can instantly double that without even trying and still retain the same amount of information. There is no learning or effort required. Watch the app preview videos above to experience it before downloading. Then, download Spdr and try it out for yourself for free.
Here's how Spdr works:
Spdr displays words one by one. Rather than moving your eyes across and down a page like you normally would, Spdr allows you to absorb text as it is presented. This means your eyes don't have to work as hard, enabling you to read and retain more text faster without your eyes getting tired and fatiguing.
We recommend starting at double the average adult reading speed, or 300-400 words per minute, and working your way up as you feel comfortable.
Spdr is free for you to try in order to see whether the technique works for you:
(1) Simply copy most links or any text and paste into the text box in Spdr
(2) Set your desired words-per-minute rate
(3) Hold down anywhere on the screen to start, and lift to pause
Upgrade to Spdr Pro:
Because Spdr is so powerful and useful, upgrade to Spdr Pro for a nominal one-time fee and receive unlimited feature access. Spdr truly is the "killer reading app," because it saves you time. You'll never want to read anything without it again. Spdr Pro includes:

Here's how it works: Save any text you want to read from the main app on your iPhone or iPad, then open Spdr on your Apple Watch. Rapidly flashing content may have adverse effects on individuals prone to seizures. If this is you, please use Spdr with caution. Link pasting and app extensions work better for some URLs and websites than they do for others. Image text recognition camera results may vary depending on text and image quality, including the surface of where the text appears. Spdr is a tool meant to help you read more text faster without having to skim or really make any effort at all. Certain features may be limited on the Apple Watch. An Internet connection required when pasting links, and may be required when using the Spdr Pro-available app extensions to share content to Spdr. If you find Spdr useful (or useless), we'd like to know by having you leave a review here on the App Store. Thanks for giving Spdr a try.

Ratings and Reviews
Hamstrung by congratulations
I like this app. As someone with dyslexia this app is really useful for me and I would absolutely give it more stars if I could actually use it to read more than a few hundred words before it stops everything and congratulates me. Then I have the option of starting at the beginning of what I was reading, read something else or share that I am using the app. Why can’t I just keep reading? Much of what I read is longer than the instructions to ramen noodles but that’s the length of text this app seems to want to keep to. Let me choose when I am done Spdr and I’ll use you a bunch. I thought paying the $1.99 would remove what I see as a glitch, but nope.

Hello and thank you for your review! This is great feedback! Spdr should stop once the text you have entered has been read through in its entirety. If we understand your comment correctly, does it stop prior to getting to the end of the input text? With Spdr Plus, you have the option to (1) copy-paste text, (2) paste a link, (3) open through the browser extension, and (4) take a photo of the text. You can enter any length of text. In upcoming updates, we’ll allow you to save text like articles and read them consecutively. Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any further questions. Thank you for using Spdr!
Swipe for the Home Screen Not Working!
I couldn’t exit the app after opening. I obviously 🙄 know you have to swipe up to exit, it’s a glitch in your app than won’t let me exit.
Additionally has a TON of annoying ads. Ads help pay for developers, but having an invasive ads after every use of the app is terrible; specially when you’re not offering a paid version and you’re just a new app no one knows.
Keep up the terrible UX (+ bad developer responses) and poor decision from your management team! At least the app UI looks pretty.
The pop-ups are crippling
I'm really excited to try this but the pop-ups are extremely annoying, like moreso than in other apps. Really need to address this.
