Speeches is an App for preparing and delivering speeches and pitches. Prepare speaker's notes and deliver a great speech — perfectly timed — no matter what the occasion.
Be it a wedding speech, sermon, business presentation, or evening at the debating club, navigating your notes is that much easier with Speeches as your portable teleprompter.
Prepare your notes directly in Speeches on your iPhone or iPad, or import a text file from Mail or another App (e.g. Dropbox, iCloud Drive). You can also email your speech to solicit feedback from friends and colleagues, and your speeches sync between devices with iCloud.
Speeches helps with your preparation. Organize notes, set a speech duration, and practice to make sure you can finish on time. Having difficulty with a particular section? Jump to any note and continue from there.
Your speech is prepared, and it's time to deliver. Speeches presents your notes as easy to navigate cue cards. No more juggling of paper notes, or fiddly scrolling in an App not designed for the pressure of public speaking. Just swipe back and forth. Simple gestures keep you focussed on speaking, and not on negotiating your notes.
Speeches goes well beyond paper notes when it comes to keeping track of your time. The onscreen timing meter shows at a glance exactly how far along you are. A second bar shows your progress through the notes. By comparing the two, you can see if you are going too fast or too slow.
In short, Speeches is the App you need to write, practice and deliver your next speech with precision and confidence.

Ratings and Reviews
Good effort - but not good enough
It looks really great but isn't any better than any normal cue cards app.
Yes, you can set the time and it will tell you where you should be in your speech based on your set time. But the problem is that it doesn't allow you to time your speech in the app. This means that if you say your speech is 4 minutes and you have 8 notes (cue cards) it will just divide that 4 minutes into 8 pieces of 30 seconds each. The problem with this is that your first one may be a minute and your last 10 seconds. It should let you time the speech as you say it in the app and time how much time it takes for you to say your whole speech as well as each note.
It should also be universal because many cannot read the text on an iPhone and will want the bigger screen of the iPad. Using the iPhone app on the iPad isn't useful because you want to use it in landscape, not portrait and it doesn't give you this option.
Unless they fix these issues and actually make this app as good as it can and should be it should never be worth $8. A this stage it's not even worth $1. Very disappointed. It has a lot of potential and can be an awesome app.
Developer Response ,
We have just released version 2.0 of Speeches, and we think it should address a number of your concerns, namely that it now syncs across devices, and can be used in landscape mode.
Thanks for the feedback regarding the timer. It was a deliberate choice to divide the time line equally for each cue card. For most speeches, this should work out fairly well on average. You may have some cards that need a short time, and others which should be longer, but on average the card progress should come together, even if there are times when they are not exactly right. It is still a good indication of where you are at.
The alternative is to allow exact times to be set on every card. This can be very time consuming to setup, and has problems if you decide to change the length of your speech. We felt most people wouldn't bother to do that, and wanted to provide something that perhaps isn't perfect, but is a very handy guide for most use cases.
In any case, the feedback is most welcome, and we will take it on board when planning future releases.
Finally a decent cue card app
The category of cue card apps is full of lousy half baked efforts. Finally someone has taken the time to do it right.
This app is elegant and simple, and very well thought out for its purpose. You can tell they designed it to perform well under pressure, where you haven't got much time to think.
You can enter speaker's notes in the app. I find the iPhone keyboard a bit tricky for entering lots of text, so I think I will usually opt for importing a text file from an email. (Running the app on the iPad is probably better for this, but I haven't tried it yet.)
The presentation mode seems solid too. You just swipe left and right. There is a green bar showing how far through the slides you are, and a red stripe that moves with time. You just try to keep them close together to stay on time. Simple, but appropriate.
I think this is a great start. Would love to have import from keynote, but I can live with text for now.
2.0 a great improvement!!!
The only feature I really wanted that isn't there now was a sync with Dropbox. (The developer uses iCloud sync but that keeps me from being able to work on Windows)
Probably 4.5 stars but I'll round up.
Below were my original concerns
* Doesn't support landscape
* Needs a feature to choose the largest font so your card will fit on screen
* painful to edit on device
* would be nice if it had Dropbox support with syncing. (Instead of just import)
* timer works well for pacing

In version 2.0 of Speeches, we have added most of these features: landscape is now supported; text scales down to fit the card; you can much more easily import from Dropbox and other apps; and sync between devices is provided via iCloud. Please give the app another try. It is a free upgrade.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
