Accuracy matters when taking a speed test, if the test is not accurate whats the point? Unlike some other speed test apps SpeedSmart does not guess, throw out data or have an inferior network of servers. We don’t have the most speed test servers but ours are placed in key transit points on the internet. This combined with our unique method of testing helps to insure a more real world accurate result to what your connections real download and upload speed is.
This easy-to-use speed test app provides consistent accurate download, upload, and ping results from any location.

Always read, never contributes.
I'm that kind of guy. I always want to read reviews to be better educated about products or in this case, apps; but am never willing to take the time to write one. However, this app is really worth it. I'm an American living in Taiwan, but cannot speak Mandarin. Furthermore, I know very little about internet connections. I had asked my landlord to sign me up for a middle level internet speed plan. After having it installed I was certain that something was not right. That is were this app comes in to play. Having ran a few test to check my internet speed across server all different devices in my possession I was able to collect enough information to pin-point the problem. Using the speed readings from this app we were able to clearly see that my landlord had selected the slower speed plan. The test results were 100% percent in agreement with the plan that had been delivered. Once the isp (internet people) came to upgrade me to the higher speed, I immediately ran a new set of test. Low and behold, again 100% agreement with the new speed plan. Here's the take away, if someone like me, who knows very little about tech stuff, living in a foreign country, can use this app ANYONE can. It was 100% consistent, reliable, and most importantly accurate.
Only 1 Server in CA, US?
What happened? I've had this tester for nearly a year. I even paid for the ad free version. And over that time, servers in california began gradually disappearing. Speedsmart had two test servers in and around LA when I first got it. One in Orange County and one in L.A.. The O.C. server was removed months ago and now the one in L.A. Is gone. The only server left in CA is San Francisco. How can you not have a freaking test server in or around one of the biggest cities in the U.S.. It's Ridiculous. Seeing how the OC server never returned, I don't have any confidence the L.A. server will. Now the nearest server for LA is Las Vegas.
There are two alternatives that are better and free. Ookla Speedtest and nPerf tester. The nPerf tester is a real good one. It's a complete test. Check it out. You'll see what I mean. But more importantly, both Ookla and nPerf provide considerably more test servers. I was going to mention Simple-Speed, but that tester uses the same servers Speedsmart uses so it's lacking as well.
Was very pleasantly surprised to see that this speed testing app actually does work and works well. I've used this app while on the road away from home also. It has showed me the weaknesses of the free internet at hotels and resorts while away.
At home it has showed me that my internet speed hasn't been consistent all the time like I thought it would (XFINITY).
Also while visiting relatives I tested their internet speed for them and they were surprised to find out they weren't getting the internet speed of what they were paying for either !
I would highly recommend this app !!!
