What's New in Version 3.6.0

Let’s cut right to the chase: iPhone 6/6+ support, including landscape on the 6+. Hooray!

Got speed to spare? We also added the ability to adjust the gauge increments in the settings tab. This is just a visual enhancement, of course, with no effect on the test itself. Your final results will be the same regardless of chosen increment.

We’ve also made some pretty significant improvements to performance, ad removal, and bug fixes. Oh, and did we mention iPhone 6/6+ support! Woo!

If you rely on Speedtest to diagnose connectivity issues and keep your Internet service provider and carriers honest, we’d be thrilled if you would leave us some feedback in the App Store. Thanks and happy testing!

Keeping carriers honest with throttling

I live in Michigan and use Xfinity. I purchased the highest speed that a resident (non-business owner) could have. Using the app I determined that I was reaching download speeds via wi-fi over 105mb's a second. After several months I found that my speeds were declining then rising. After a certain point they began to hold at much lower speeds. Xfinity technicians asked me to use their app to test speeds. Sure enough theirs showed my original speeds but unrestricted. Using this app I was able too show my original burst of high speed then the slow down. Regardless after some bickering my high speeds returned and apparently it was magic. Thank you to the app creators for giving me a tool to prove how I was being throttled.

Great app... But

I agree with JuicyA.
There are waaay too many inconsistencies with this app... Especially with the selection of servers in my area. One could show very high down/up speeds but other servers reflect different speeds altogether!!
This is while being directly connected to router and/or modem. And wireless speeds are never guaranteed as too many variables can effect your wireless speeds. Overall, this app is the best out there though in my opinion.
More improvements need to be made with this app. But still need to make sure these internet providers are also providing you with the speeds you pay for.

Love updates

Great app and service. Always my go to.
For those that think wifi is a lot slower, etc on certain devices.
The reason is the older the device the more likely u are using 2.4ghz. Newer routers and newer devices support the 5ghz standard, which will significantly increase your speed if you pay for a high enough bandwidth. That's why iPhone 6, and newer laptops are much faster on some wireless networks. Shame my ps4 uses 2.4ghz:(
Anyhow, wired is always fastest though:p less metadata Mobile Speed Test
