Great for Knowing When Cable Provider Not Delivering Promised Speed

When Periscope is having video problems, it is good to know the source of the problem. Is it Periscope, or is it my cable provider not providing the needed download bandwidth. From 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights I always have Periscope viewing issues.

With this easy to use app, I am able to see exactly what my available download (and upload) capability is any time. And what I find is that on Friday and Saturday evenings, my cable provider is only delivering download speeds of about 15% to 25% of my promised, and otherwise delivered, speed. Likely this is due to the provider being overwhelmed with movie downloads during this time period.

The #1 app I recommend to everyone

How many times have you looked at your wifi icon and it shows connected, yet you can’t get access to anything, or everything is slow? Happens to me all the time. With Speedtest app, there are no more guesses. When someone is complaining about the speed of their phone or an app, I insist they download this app and it takes all the guesswork out of it.

Useful App!

SpeedTest is a wonderful tool. Quick, easy to use, and accurate. Always interesting to see my results. The only caveat are obtrusive ads, but that can be removed for an in-app purchase of 99 cents. I also wish this app had an extension for the Notification Center and the Apple Watch, this would be neat to see in the future. Mobile Speed Test
