The “Easy” mode lets you learn the rules of the game while you play.
In the “Medium” and “Hard” modes, you will be able to make up suits with alternate red and black cards as well as to turn over and move the cards, but you still have to come up with a complete suit of the same color to get rid of the cards.

Not the spider I knew and liked.
This is the most frustrating version of Spider Solitaire I've ever played. To begin with it's timed - but the timer and scoring system is like nothing I've ever seen, nor is it explained. If you try to pick up an entire stack you have to be extremely careful not to leave any cards behind or you'll have to repeat yourself. There is no "hint" button, so you'll often have to sit and ponder while your timer keeps ticking; eventually, when it feels you've wasted enough time, the computer will eventually give you a clue - usually to deal again. But the most frustrating aspect is when the final row has been dealt; if I tarry at all, the computer decides I've failed long before I'm ready to give up - and gives a sort of "raspberry" trumpet sound as it announces I've failed. I've bypassed that and actually won the game several times. All in all, I play Spider for my own amusement and I don't enjoy having the computer monitoring my time and pushing me to move faster, nor do I want it to decide when I'm done. For me, a waste of time and money; I'm sure there are better versions out there.
Some Negative & Some Positive for Spider Mania Solitaire
The Negative---I really dislike how it says,"You failed!" "No more solutions to finish the game!" while it makes an annoying loud sound that startels me instead of relaxing me. Then I proceed to win the game even tho it told me I failed!! I dislike how you cannot go back and try to replay the entire game again until I get it right. I dislike how it highlights the cards that are in correct order and darkens the rest. Too much of a help. I also dislike the fact that you can't turn off the Help options so it always tells you which card you should play next!
The Positive---I love the look of the slightly worn cards on the faded felt. And the surprises with the little spider which I won't give away. Makes me chuckle almost every time.
