Reducing stars due to problematic new ads
This has been my absolute favorite game for years, but recent changes to the ads have become a major problem. Even though I have the game settings set to silence, at the end of a game while I'm trying to look at my time/score, the screen will suddenly be taken over by an ad that blasts loud music, violently jarring me and sometimes waking up my sleeping spouse. I now have to try to remember not to play the game at night, or to mute my entire device and I don't always remember in time. Even when I do, I've learned to hate the sudden ads so much that as soon as an ad pops up I frantically turn off the game or even my device. I'm considering uninstalling it over this. I know I could pay $10 for an ad-free version, but that feels like coercion/blackmail and I don't want to reward the creators for doing this to loyal players. If we have the game set to be silent, they should not override that with loud ads. I could see this actually triggering violence in some households when one partner wakes up the other in spite of their best efforts to play a silent game in peace. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED.
A challenging and well designed game with only two tweaks needed.
A challenging, easy to understand and well designed game that allows one to choose the level of difficulty that maintains the desired level of challenge and one I enjoy very much. This is a follow up review that I will repeat two of my previous suggestions for improvement since they have not been implemented and may not have been read by the developers. The option to turn off the game's "auto placement" of the card(s) and to be able to change the vertical distance between the cards in the columns would prevent wrongly auto-placed cards and wrongly chosen top card in the column to move, which result in needed extra moves to correct the error and, thus, lowered scores. Given the fine level of attention to detail in the overall design of these games, I have no doubt that these changes would be easy for the developers to include.
Too many ads!
I love this game, it's my favorite solitaire game and this is an excellent version. I'd give it five stars, but the ads are so intrusive, they get in the way of game play. I upgraded to the pro version, it plays much better without the ads, but $10 is a little steep for such a simple game. Two options should be added:
1) the option to "redo" after an "undo". sometimes I undo back several steps to see if a game can be won by taking a different set of moves, but if it doesn't work, I'd like to be able to redo the steps I initially took.
2) you should be able to save a game in one level when switching to a different level. I play in both medium and hard modes, medium I usually play for speed, and hard is always a challenge just to win. I don't like that it counts as quitting a game if I try to go into a different level after having started a game.
If these two issues are fixed, I'll happily give the Pro version 5 stars.
