What's New in Version 1.4
OMG Deliver me! No, I’ll just delete this monster game myself.
Who asked for intelligent card action… it’s not here. Winning my first game played, down to the last two stacks… it was impossible to finish because the cards kept hopping from one blank space to the next, ignoring the intelligent option of lining up appropriately. In short, the worst Spider app I’ve ever played. During play, the overactive screen action is confusing. I noticed that immediately and found it annoying, but I kept going. Even here in the review box, you can’t copy and paste commentary to reorganize your comments. Overall, there is no control allowed to the player in determining where you want to send your card played, so the game refused to let me build stacks at my discretion. Eventually, tiring of trying to outwit the game, I quit with my two remaining stacks trapped in the clutches of the faulty coding. The thrill was pretty much gone by now anyway, as when the previous stacks were completed, they simply disappeared in a flash with no fanfare. And I had been so eager to hear the triumphant music at the end, when I finally made it happen. Now, I have serious doubt such a bit of joy was even programmed into this game. There are far superior games out there… don’t waste your time here.
Good game, but could use some improvements
Overall this is a well set up game, and very addictive! But it could use some improvements…I would like to see a version where the cards are intelligent, that is, they automatically move, when clicked, to another card of the same suit, if one is available, rather than to the nearest spot. For example, I want to move a 3 to a 4 which is located on the other end of the layout, with a blank space near the 3. Rather than going to the 4, it automatically goes to the blank space.
Then I have to manually move it to the 4. Or, let's say I have a 3 of clubs, I want to move to a 4 of clubs, but there's a 4 of spades nearer the 3. The3 of clubs just goes to the 4 of spades. I'd like to see that 3 have the intelligence to move to the 4 of clubs as a default move.
I'd also like to see a scoring board (I have a Mac) that shows my best score (least number of moves) and how many wins, vs losses I have played.
All that said, I really love this game!
I have never played this form of solitaire and I am enjoying it. Overall this version works pretty well. Two gripes. One is that when there is an empty spot, and you click to move a card or set of cards, they will automatically go to the empty spot rather than on an obvious place. The other is that I think it’s purposely set up so that there is ALWAYS one card that is not available to complete a run particularly in the first hand, and usually when there is one set left to deal. What are the chances that there is always a card in the middle of the run that is not available until you deal the next set of cards? I’m going to try playing with regular cards to see if this is as common as it is in this game. Other than that, this game is fun and is free, so who am I to complain. I suspect however, that I will never win at anything but the one suit version.
