The Seattle Public Library in your pocket! The catalog, My Account, and some features of the Library Web site are now available from your Web-enabled phone. Search the Library catalog for a title, place holds, renew items you have checked out, see what you have on hold, and view most account information. You can Ask a Librarian a question via instant messaging, text, or telephone during Library open hours (phone feature dependent). Check the calendar of events for classes, story times, author readings, and other programs. Find your nearest Library location on the map and view hours, addresses, and other information. Use book, DVD, CD and audio book lists to discover new or recommended titles. Read the latest entries on Library blogs and our Facebook fan page.

The mobile catalog offers a great new way to find items - just type the first couple of letters of words. Type 'row gob' for J.K. Rowlings' "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." For "Gossip Girl" titles, type 'gos gi.' To find a specific "Gossip Girl" title like "Because I'm Worth It," you only have to type 'gos gi be.'

Sadly disfunctional

The older version of the app ran well. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it allowed me to look up library hours and addresses, keep our kids’ library cards on file, search the catalog and place holds, renew checked out books etc.I still use the updated app to look up library info, and keep library cards on file. However... the latest iteration of this app seems to have trouble remembering my login, so I have to re-log-in any time I want to place a hold, except that it only reloads the top page and never gets to the actual login screen... but then, it doesn’t even let me place a hold (just keeps reloading the catalog listing). The end result is that I’m less able to spontaneously access the library resources to look up and hold books while going about my day. I look forward to a more functional updated version of this app.

Good app; except......

Now all of a sudden I have to enter my email address every time I sign in to my account? Why can't it store that like it does my library card number and PIN? Or better yet, take that back out; app worked fine before it was added.

Desperately needs a major overhaul

This app is really outdated. It hasn't been updated for the larger screens so on a 6S Plus everything is huge like I'm using a phone for old people. It also just looks terrible: cheesy icons, bad font choices and terrible menu design. About the best you can say is that it's barely functional.
