Splice is an experimental and artistic puzzler. Immerse yourself in its microbial world and start splicing! Every level ("strand") consists of a number of cells that you will need to rearrange into a target structure in several moves ("splices"). Exploration and experimentation are key in determining how the curious little cells react to each other. Predict the sequence of splices you'll have to make in order to successfully arrange each strand. Re-sequence, mutate, and splice your way through this unique puzzle experience, and you'll exercise your ability to visualize sequential series of shapes over time. Solve your way to the final strands and you'll be left with a heady sense of mental accomplishment!

Customer Reviews

Great! its relaxing, fun, and beautiful.

I've never written a review before, but I've just been playing this for about 10 minutes and love it. I think its the fact that it's simply a puzzle game, and could have been made with much less effort, but the developers made it absolutely beautiful. I knew it would look good from the screen shots and the fact that they made it support retina displays, but I didn't expect the great music. It's to calm piano music, and I haven't figured this part out yet, but it seems there is some gesture control on the music playback.

Anyways, after about 2 minutes of messing around (I didn't see a tutorial) I figured out the gameplay. I felt compelled to write this review at least for the fact that there was extra effort put into this game to make it enjoyable, not merely functional.

Great game!

Nice design, but boring

Splice certainly doesn't look or sound like any other game I've played, and the feeling of being suspended in a bacterial culture is pretty well done. Many reviewers have commented on the music, and I can see how you would either like it (like me) or find it annoying. The real problem with the game is that it's boring. It takes a few levels to figure out how to play, and after that it's very repetitive. If you don't get a puzzle right the first time, you rewind your steps and try a different approach until you solve it. I cannot imagine playing more than one level at a sitting.

In the end, it's a waste of clever, immersive design on what ends up being a dull game.

Retina Support

So, first off, this game is fantastic. I love the music, the gameplay can be a little repetitive, but so can every other puzzle game on the market right now. The only thing that I have a problem with is the "Retina Support". 1440 x 900? That isn't retina. I purchased this game specifically because it stated that it had retina support. Only to find that after my 10 dollars was spent, I can only use HALF of my retina display!? Please do not advertise as a Retina Ready game when it isn't. I'm not saying the game looks horrible, but it certainly wasn't worth 10 bucks without actual retina support. Please update. Please.
