Mavericks users please read

The location of the accessibility settings has changed on Mavericks. The app still works 100%, but during the upgrade to Mavericks, the accessibility settings are disabled, and you will need to manually re-enable them. The process takes less than 60s.

This article explains the process http://www.tekrevue.com/2013/06/25/how-to-enable-access-for-assistive-devices-in-os-x-mavericks/

Super simple window management.

Split Screen allows you to effortlessly resize windows to exactly half your desktop at the touch of a simple keystroke. Gone are the days of trying to resize windows to fit nicely next to each other, with Split Screen it is as easy as pressing a button.

Supported Actions:
- Resize window left
- Resize window right
- Resize window to full screen

Coming in the next release
- Customise resize ration (1/3 - 2/3 etc..)
- Additional support for some apps

Split Screen is fully configurable, allowing you to choose which shortcut keys to use.

Split Screen supports about 90% of apps (some apps are not designed to be resized) and we are adding support to new apps all the time.

Customer Reviews

Works great but I would love an update

This is a great little app that really helps my productivity and sanity by providing a service that OSX really should have built in. And it only costs a dollar and doesn't take up much space or RAM. That being said, I really wish the developer provided an update that fixes two annoying bugs.

One, it occasionally closes/crashes for no apparent reason. You can start it back up again with no problems, but its no very convenient.

The most annoying, however, is that if you keep your dock on the side of the screen like me, the app for some reason thinks there is a dock on the other side of the screen, too, creating empty space that is inefficient and ugly. This means I usually have to manually resize the windows, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the app. I notice other reviewers are having this same problem. Developer if you read this, please help us out!

Perfect

App is reasonably priced and does just what I need it to. Saves me time since I used to be dragging windows to the right sizes and such, this makes it so much easier. One thing though, I don't know if this is because 1) I am running Mountain Lion Developer Preview 1 and/or 2) I'm using Safari 5.2, which comes with it and is also a Developer Preview, so those could be factors, but I was using the "Reader" function of safari and when I tried to change the screen from it being shrunk to the left to full screen, it just crashed. I tested and it happens also if i'm in the maximized window and in reader and try to shrink. So just something you may want to take a look at to have ready for when lion/safari 5.2 comes out. GREAT APP THOUGH!

Awesome, simple, and reasonably priced.

This is exactly what I needed - a simple way to maximize and split windows on the screen, something I've missed as a longtime Windows user. This program essentially adds three customizable Control- commands to resize/maximize your windows, and that's it. If you want something more elaborate or something mouse/trackpad-based, other programs might suit you better. But at 99 cents, this is a steal.

One star off because of a minor bug: a test-prep application I have doesn't work with it on, and I'm required to quit Split Screen first before i use it. Otherwise, no issues at all.
