Needs a few more things to be a desktop replacement.
iOS 11 Update: Well, thank you SquareSpace for the Multitasking and Drag + Drop support for my iPad Pro. Now, if I could only get support for Embed Blocks and the ability to format quotes like I can on the web client, that would be something. Medium can do all this on their iOS app, just need that extra bit of functionality to really make my iPad Pro the centerpiece of my blogging workflow.
iOS 10 version: I've used this for some light editing in a pinch. I like having this option when Safari isn't as responsive. I'm disappointed that Embed Blocks aren't supported in the app. Being able to cross post to Medium would also be helpful. That'd be huge for my blogging needs. With the new iPad Pros out and iOS 11 around the corner, this app could be much more useful than it is. From the looks of it, it doesn't support Split View or Slide Over either in iOS 10. Hope this changes.
Thank you for your review D'Anconia! This is very constructive and helpful feedback, and we will certainly put this into consideration for future app updates.
A Blog App Can’t Format Paragraphs? Seriously??
Currently the Squarespace iOS app cannot format text entries. Squarespace is touted as a platform for blogging, journalism and writing, yet their iOS app cannot even format text and justify it to the left, center or right. It is very odd to me that Squarespace would choose to add the option to insert bullet points into a body of text and not allow basic paragraph formatting.
When will this app be updated? It feels like it has been completely ignored. Squarespace is making buckets and buckets of money, what is with their blogging app? Why is it so poorly supported?
I am very disappointed with Squarespace's iOS app. It's not a very powerful tool at all. I upgraded my Squarespace account solely to be able to use the iOS app. Get with the program Squarespace or I'm moving my webpage elsewhere. This app is weak.
It works ok - can’t move pics / vids anymore
It’s fairly easy to use app and works well enough but I guess the recent update killed the ability to move photos and videos around in a post . I used to be able to drag a picture or video around and now I can’t do that anymore. I can’t even drag photos or videos to trash , so it’s very limited . Sometimes photos won’t load properly after you upload them too . I’m using ios 11.3 , 8+ so I shouldn’t have any problems with processing or anything. It’s also slow to load pictures for a slide show too .
I like it allot but it seems like for every step forward they go two back .
