Great App!

I love Squarespace Note and use it essentially every single day for a myriad of purposes. It performs as advertised without any problems, which is all I require of any app. Sure, some users have specific functional requirements, but no one app can satisfy all users. Note app is minimalist and fast – which is totally what I was looking for particularly when out and about and needing to jot down ideas or notes very quickly. I have used this app in meetings and while shopping -- I love it. At this point, when working at my desk, I no longer reach for a yellow post-it note – I reach for my iPhone and use this app. For me, it works beautifully across the board in all aspects – personally and professionally. I, personally, do not need to edit any notes in the app. I do not require any functionality beyond the first iteration – which, for me, was perfect. I just need the ability to capture ideas and jot things down fast and easy. I use the app similar to how I use yellow post-it notes. I do not edit yellow sticky notes and, typically, I do not save them either. Once the purpose of the note is satisfied, I discard it. I approach notes I create with this app in the same manner. I use Evernote, Noteshelf, Paper and my task manager when I need to go deeper with my notes. This app is perfect for quick captures. My hope is that it does not become bloated with features that compromise the beauty and ease of using it. I love it.

Don't put any stock in the negative reviews...

Squarespace Note does exactly what it says it does, and looks and feels great doing it. For what it is designed to be, it's absolutely fantastic. If you don't have a need for this type of app, don't download it, and certainly don't leave a negative review based on your opinions of the existing Squarespace app (Which to my knowledge, is being tirelessly worked on as well).
For us "pen and paper junkies", that always need something handy to scribble notes on, this app saves time, space, and paper, and gives plenty of options to push notes where you need them most, even outside of the Squarespace platform. It's smart, minimalistic, and well-designed. You can put a note on its way in a fraction of the time it would take you to write it down somewhere. Additionally, if you're clever, you can use it to send a note to to your husband/wife, co-workers, kids, or friends, simply by editing your services to include their e-mail.
I can see how some people might want landscape support, so that's valid. The only other feature I see missing, is the ability to reorder your services, being able to put more frequently used selections at the top. Other than those two very minor suggestions, I think Squarespace Note is perfect right out of the gate. How often do you see that happen in the appstore?

Stunningly Finicky App

This is a frustrating app on my iPhone 4s. I managed to add my accounts, though the interface was slowing to a crawl to the point that the keyboard became unresponsive. Restarted the phone. Got as far as a one-line test note and "sent" it. Then, when I tried to swipe to find my accounts, as instructed in the introductory animation, the interface failed to respond to all manner of swipes. Managed to swipe to find my saved note after another restart, but never found my accounts list again.

I recognize that the Squarespace team is working hard, and I commend them on making a tool that apparently the Squarespace team loves. But with so many apps that provide quick note taking and publishing services that work, it's a shame that a first run of an app like this is fraught with so many problems. As stated in the blog post announcing this app, I appreciate that the team is working hard on continuing to develop the Squarespace platform. But with an app like Note on deck it's hard not to feel a touch of frustration that the organization is diversifying when there are still so many opportunities to improve core functionality of the namesake product. I'm excited to see a substantial and significant update to iOS versions of the publishing app, for example, which could benefit from the same UI attention applied to Note. This app is unusable at this time.
