This application will allow an SSI recipient, a recipient’s representative payee, or an individual whose income helps an SSI recipient meet their basic needs (like a parent or a spouse) report their gross monthly wages to Social Security from the convenience of their smartphone.
Consistent monthly wage reporting helps prevent improper payments, which may cause SSI overpayments and underpayments.

App is fraught with problems
I’ve been able to use the app a total of ONE time. Every other month, I’ve had to call in, which on average takes over an hour.
I was instructed to use the app rather than mail in my earnings stubs every month to avoid “overpayments.” I understand that Social Security provides service to over 50 million people, and I’m thankful for my benefits - however, Social Security needs to have a major overhaul in consistency of information. The issue with the app is only a small example of this.
I’m very disappointed in the lack of an effective service for simply doing the right thing - reporting wages! It’s the very least that Social Security can provide to people who wish to follow the rules and give back... an effective, consistent means to do so.
Worthless for Blind Individuals
This is so ridiculous I almost don't know where to begin. There are special reporting requirements for blind individuals who collect SSI and are working. This app does not allow you to indicate that you are blind, and it has no means to input deducted expenses related to one's blindness. Their own web site explains the correct blindness related SSI reporting calculations, yet their app can't account for them. So now I get to spend one of my precious days off every month having a grand old time dealing with SSI in person or on the phone because they couldn't be bothered to make their app work for everyone who may be using it. If they want to make people so frustrated that they work more just to get out of this system, they are doing the right thing!!
I guess I'm not the only person having issues now
This app WAS a life saver! I haven't been able to report my wages since October 1st! I came here to see if anyone else was experiencing the "crash" and I see I am not alone! C'mon social security get with the iOS-10 program! Unfortunately I can't call to report my wages either because the automated system can't ever understand me saying and spelling my name out! Grrrr! Which leaves me to fax in wages, that seem to always get LOST! There goes another overpayment!
Edited 5/8/18: Since my initial review, the app began to work. But here it is almost 2 years later and it is broken again! I’m getting a blank white screen now! This is such an inconvenience for people who don’t have time to go to the social security office!
