Compete on your schedule with the official companion app for EA SPORTS SSX. By using this app, you will be constantly connected to the online world of SSX.
What you can do with the App:
•Track the real-time, in-game scores and times of your friends and rivals
•Send messages to your friends from the app, and have it show up on their console
•Keep track of your standings in Global Events when you’re nowhere near your console
A modern day reinvention of one of the most critically acclaimed arcade franchises of all-time, EA SPORTS™ SSX will allow players to experience the franchise’s signature fun and adrenaline-packed gameplay across iconic mountain ranges all over the world.
Using NASA topographical satellite data, we’ve mapped out a Massive World for players to explore. Throughout nine expansive mountain ranges, SSX packs reality-defying gameplay into every run letting players Race, Trick, and Survive down huge open mountains. In addition, Explore, Global Events and RiderNet - SSX’s recommendation engine - headline an online feature set that will revolutionize social competition for gamers, making it fun and easy to compete with friends on your schedule.
One of the most critically-acclaimed titles coming out of E3, SSX is now featured on 14 ‘Most Anticipated Games of 2012’. SSX launches on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game system on February 28 in North America and by March 2 in the rest of the world.
This app is a fantastic idea, however it needs work. I award five stars to the idea, not the app. It should have the ability to check certain drops, not just every score any of your friends have scored ever. Add inertia to the scrolling. It also needs to update faster, I'm not sure why it is this slow when all other apps are working fine in conjunction with the internet. Again, wonderful idea I will keep it on my iPod and use it from time to time, but I hope as the developer, If you end up seeing this, you will have the dedication to make this app fill the rest of the potential it definitely has. Together, this app and the game ( if improvements are made to the app in an update ), this SSX can be a truly memorable experience to enjoy with friends while competing online and aiming for the highest score, and it can be a milestone in gaming for its community. I can't wait for the update!
Forget those freak complainers!
Idiot reviewers! Sheesh. It does exactly what it says it can do, they are just complaining cuz no one listens to them, because they complain so much.
But, I think its a really cool concept to keep track of your competition on the go, so you can mentally prepare to PWN them back without being surprised and bamboozled with shock when you sign on your console and then lose your thunder from sudden anxiety. Plus, it will keep you in touch with those you both love and hate on a daily basis. Figure out their strategy, plan a surprise attack in the morning, or even just send them a positive message about how hard they're going to get pwned after you dump.
Boo-ya EA, Boo-ya.
I agree with most reviews, particularly everything 'thesexybackboy' said. All these scores set by friends are useless without some context. And the 'did not place' bug in the Global Events tab is pretty annoying.
This app would be much better if it included everything in the Explore and Global Events menus: the interactive globe, with ranges, peaks, runs, and the leaderboards and medal cutoffs for each. This isn't a bad start for the app, but there is absolutely zero flare and it feels uninspired and bland (the exact opposite of SSX). If this is the best EA can do, I see no reason to even use it. In its current state, it's little more than a heads-up of which friends have recently played.
