Don’t Expect Much from DB

I am a long time player of Timelines. This was a great game, especially for fans of the Star Trek universe, and I have made many friends in the greater online community. But it seems as if every decision Disruptor Beam makes ends up alienating the player base.

The worst aspect of this game is the extremely unpredictable nature of DB’s RNG engine: Drop rates for necessary gear are horrible, advertised mission success rates in the 80% to 90% range are just as likely to fail as those below 50%. The Gauntlet feature has empirically been proven to be unfair, yet DB claims everything is “working as intended™.”

Meanwhile, every time a new feature has been introduced, there have been a litany of bugs and exploits. I put in a support ticket for a problem with the latest game upgrade, and I have been waiting 19 days and counting for a resolution. So play this game or not. Spend money on it or not. Just understand that Disruptor Beam seems much more interested in taking people’s money than providing a quality gaming experience.

I have been a long-time Star Trek fan of all of the series and have been a fan and player of Timelines for most of the time it has been available. I love being able to collect the characters I love and the different incarnations of them. I only wish there were more versions, though I know they trickle in as they can. I notice some people complain about certain aspects of the game, but isn’t that the nature of a game? We are given challenges, and games are not meant to be easy, at least if we are to want to strive for something and not win instantly.

I loved the addition of new features...daily missions, arena, gauntlet, events, and now voyages, and can’t wait for what else is to come.

In terms of customer service, though there are sometimes bugs, my exposure to them has decreased significantly with time, and I have not needed to put in a support ticket in a long while. In any case, I’ve found the support team to be very understanding and helpful, as well as motivated to “make things right” when I miss out on something I’ve lost.

I hope Timelines continues for a long time to come, just as the Star Trek franchise has endured!

Getting slightly better

-GOOD- Newest updates are nice (less crashing and stalling). New characters are nicely added (although still no Kelvin Timeline). More options for activity is also nice, although there should be more mission levels across the entire map.
Funny little joke (perhaps not) with the new "free" videos setup...they swapped sides of the X (close) and circle (repeat) and added a 1 full minute video.

-BAD- Many items still require FAR to many attempts to obtain considering the drop % for said items. I should not need to do a mission 9 times for 1 item with 100% chance...(AKA..drop rates still stink). Shuttle missions on events still seem unreasonably hard considering maxed super rares only bring 60% total....(AKA..some events still cater to big spenders). Chroniton refresh cap based on level is still pathetic. All these updates and they can't get rights to voice more characters??? STILL NO WAY TO DISABLE ANNOYING SPLASH SCREENS every single time you start the game. I don't buy anything SOLELY because they blast my face with it every time I start the game each on 4 characters.

Better yes...but still think the game would be unknown and forgotten with 2 stars without the Star Trek theme.
