BEST STAR WARS GAME EVER…unfortunately not for everyone

Yes I agree. This is hands down the best Star Wars Game ever made. However, since it's an RPG, a lot of people are not going to like it, myself included. It's defenitely not a complicated RPG, but the problem I find with it is the fact that there is so much micromanagement and backtacking to be done leaving little room for action. However, I can't really complain as this is standard for RPGs. That's just it though, the flaw of this game is that it is too much of an RPG and people who want to play a high-paced Star Wars game will be dissappointed. I must say though the game is excellent, there are light-sabers and blasters abound, great dialogue, interesting game choices, and overall great elements. By the way, HK-47 is the one of the greatest characters. If you love Star Wars and enjoy RPGs then this game is for you meat bag. However, if you don't like RPGs or are just not that good at them like me then I find this hard to recommend despite the accolades it gets.

-It's Star Wars
-Dialouge and Story are addictive and what you are spending most of your time doing is talking to people then actual combat.
-Be prepared to not see your loved ones for awhile

-It's too much of a RPG therefore it is not for everyone
-Combat gets difficult, annoying, and is often unbalanced
-So much time will be made backtracking and micromanging even for characters that you'll probably not use.

One of my new favorite RPG games!

I'm not going to lie. In the beginning, this game seemed like a really boaring game. I played for about an hour moving around trying to figure out what I was going to do. The controls were a bit weird to get used to, but after I figured out how to adjust them it was great! After not playing it for a few weeks, I decided to go back and try it out. Best move of my life (not litterally, but I think you get my point)! I've had a blast playing this game, and even though the price is a bit high, it's worth it, trust me!
I was able to play the game with all of the advanced graphics setting on, and as high as possible on my 15" Early 2010 MBP with 8GB of ram, quad-core 2.2GHz i7 processors, and a Intel HD 3000 graphics card. FLAWLESS game playing. Only ONCE did it freze up and that was because I click around and hit too many buttons at the same time. I quit the game, restarted it, and it proformed flawlessly after that. On occasion, once I kill and enemy (or ally, depending if I'm going to be Dark or Light), I wasn't able to get my character to move for a few seconds. This never happened during a battle, only after a "wave" passed, and even then it rarely happened. All in all, this is a superb game an NOT getting it (provided you have the right coputer to operate it) would be a mistake!

Very happy new MAC user!

This year I went ahead and made the jump from PC to MAC. One of the big hurdles that prevented an earlier jump has been my love of Bioware games which up until recently have been offered only on Console or PC. I was delighted to find on my first forray to the APP store a number of recommended gaming apps including my favorite game of all time - Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. It was a wonderful surprise that leaves me hoping that we'll eventually see all of Bioware's titles available (as well as Obsidian's KotOR: The Sith Lords).

Regarding the game: If you haven't played it before note that it was released in 2003, so it is not going to compare with more recent releases in terms of graphics and combat. Yet, you should give this game a chance because it has one of the most compelling stories that have come along within the Star Wars Expanded Universe. This game also has set some of the precedents for the RPG's we see on the shelves today.

I have only played the first hour of the game and I yet to experience any issues with graphics, play or audio (I am playing on the 2.5GHz Mac Mini) - so I cannot give a lot of feedback on performance. My rating is strictly based on the quality of the game experience.

Thank you for brining it to MAC through the APP Store!
