Second only to Chris Pratt in guardians of the Galaxy, this app is great. Hasn't crashed on me and it does what is supposed to do, which is essential. Like most other apps this has features which I like. This app is akin to a warm piece of pie on a cool autumn night, gooey and sweet and goes good with coffee. Which honestly is the only reason I got the app. I don't use the music feature because there is another app for that already, several. The message system is neat because it tells me about other things I might like. Just this last week I downloaded a game where you drop a ball in a cup, kind of like a virtual kadama but with more movable shapes. I also downloaded a dictionary. Mostly I use this app to transfer money from one card to another card so I can earn exclusivity to a different card that holds benefits over the ladder. I'm a sucker for anything with points. The app works and I hope it stays working in the future. My two fears for apps nowadays are they either oversimplify which could insult their client base or that it becomes so saturated with unnecessary parts and functions that the quality goes down. As long as this app allows me to reload my cards instantly and sends me fun app like "cup ball" and "what's that word mean?" I'll still use it. If it changes I'll probably still use it too. Mainly because my French press takes too long and Dutch bros takes like watered down vegan tears.
Inconsistent but Clean Layout
When I started to use the Starbucks app, I was very excited about it. It almost doubled or tripled my business with Starbucks. I really like the ability to order a drink with practically one click as I am driving around town. The concept is amazing and the layout is nice, but I found the app to be very inconsistent in the last three or four months that I used it. I would have to delete the app and reinstall it for it to even pull up the locations. For some reason, it would work on the first or second order, and then the locations would not pop up. It made the app completely useless as I was not able to order. Another major problem was because of this bug that wasn't loading any of the stores, I guess it was affecting the way my card was reading so I couldn't even reload my card or check the balance because it was showing a wrong balance. There were many things wrong with the app, but I love the overall concept and layout if they could just get their crap together and fix the dang bugs. I wish I could five star rated, but I wanted to give it a fair rating of two since it is a nice looking app, I just found that it really was inconsistent and not working like most of the time.
Mobile ordering difficulty
Most of the time mobile ordering is great, but sometimes it says there are no Starbucks near me, even when I'm sitting in front of one. It's very difficult to change the location when it does work. Sometimes I don't want to go to the Starbucks nearest me. It would be nice to make changing locations easier Also, each step of mobile
ordering takes so long to process before moving on to the next step. Sometimes we arrive at the location before I'm even through trying to order. Then I have to sit and wait even longer which defeats the purpose of mobile ordering.
Finally, when looking up if there is a Starbucks near my location, it would be nice to know which direction that was from me. When traveling you don't want to head for a Starbucks that seems close, only to realize it's back the way you came. I don't want to have to backtrack to a Starbucks when I'm on the freeway going in the opposite direction, when another location would be better, because it's in the direction I'm headed.
