Great Space Horror Game

The storyline, puzzles, and graphics were great for the genre. Gameplay was smooth, and easy to navigate. I found most of the puzzles intriguing and at an appropriate difficulty to not bog down the story. Plot twists were well written.

Not as great as it could have been

The story, writing, atmosphere and visuals : 10/10. A superb dark sci-fi novel. I wish one could increase the font size though.

The puzzle design, however, is mediocre. Sometimes you have to pixel-hunt for an item to do a specific action despite the fact that there are plenty of other more pronounced and more suitable objects lying around, yet unavailable for you to pick up. Don't rely on the highlights - they don't always indicate the key items in the room. If you're stuck for too long you may even wish to check walkthroughs online. The character may die if you attempt an action that the common sense dictates against, and yet some puzzles require you to do something rush, plain stupid, and obviously dangerous to begin with without considering any safer options. The otherwise harsh and gritty world contains some silly engineering decisions -- suitable for a PG cartoon --- just to yield yet another puzzle. These quest elements to some extent ruin the somber atmosphere of the game. If you've ever heard of the sci-fi classics like "Bioforge", this game doesn't even come close.

I would highly recommend the story and vote against the quest component. But that means you could just watch the walk-through on youtube (albeit, reading data logs is very entertaining too). All that amounts to a reasonable sci-fi game which however is not worth $25. Not in 2016. If you happen to catch it on sale, maybe check out Steam, for $7 -10, by all means give it a try.
